GB liberals and cretinoid posts

Just a rant born out of frustration, after browsing some political threads today.

Several examples come to my mind, but I'll focus on the most recent ones: renard and underguy.
They recently provided links to some renown intellectuals and made excellent observations. Yes, xou're right that one might not agree on some political points, but those resources would have been gold in terms of a springboard for debates and improving one's critical thinking abilities.
- Yet their message got drowned in the most idiotic name calling and "accusations" .
And I'm not talking about your typical trolls like Disgustipated et al; I'm referring to more serious posters like WrongElement and so on.

Some of us don't have many skills in the political area, and the GB is a fun and palatable avenue for self- improvement.

Why are you GB liberals so selfish and self-involved, and are constantly ruining that experience for us? And why would you even condemn us and attack us and troll us for the fact that we don't side with your ilk?
Why would we anyway?
You might have the intellect and knowledge, but you guys never bother to share with the rest of us similar resources (there are plenty of world renown 'liberal' intellectuals). On the contrary; you keep engaging in this anti- intellectual war and mocking some of the most enlightened intellectuals, just because they come up with ideas that differ from yours.

What happened to ignoring all of Lit except for your 12 racist douchebag friends and limiting your Lit time to posting blurts in Wat's thread?

It sounded like a fucking great idea at the time.

I'm starting to get fed up with this forum.
Political posters are starting to lose interest and are posting less and less.
And as for mine - they're more likely to atract cretinoid posts by my stalker and Rob, than anything else.

If it weren't for you guys, Ann, Lance, the BB franchise and a couple more, I think I would've stopped posting a long time ago.
Plus real life is starting to catch up with me.

I'll try to take a short sabatical, although I'm not convinced that I'll have enough self- discipline to sustain it.

Those few posters as in the content of their posts have become too important for me. (both as entertainment and as eye-openers, so to speak).
On the other hand, many aspects of the forum are very distracting and act as huge time wasters for me, since I often get caught up and wrapped up in them, even if I have very limitted interest in them.

So it just occured to me: why not copy LJ's attitude and use this forum as my own blog (as bronzeage once described him, tongue in cheek)? While putting p everybody on iggy but for those 12 or so posters who truly interest me?

Ironic attitude, I know since so many posters find Me to be tedious and intrusive and have me on iggy.
But I think it's a brilliant idea and I'll give it a try.
Thanks for your patience, guys. I'm done now with my whining.
