Sapiosexuals Come Chat About Whatever Floats Your Boat

Funny, I received the same response when I posted about being sapio sexual. I don't see what's pretentious about the term at all. How is it different than saying you like any other type of kink? Maybe because you had to look it up you are afraid you aren't smart enough to have a conversation with someone that identifies as sapiosexual. I enjoy talking to witty and intelligent women. It's a turn on when random conversation flows well and you make a cerebral connection. Simple as that. I'm smart enough to know that I don't know nearly enough.

I don't see it so much as pretentious as much as an unreliable selection criterion.

There are all sort of different gifts and challenges when it comes to intelligence. Some of it translates well to the verbal realm, some of it doesn't. Ultimately, smart is in the ear of the beholder.

Then there's the problem that despite the objective fact that half of everyone you meet will be below the median for intelligence, the majority of people that you will ever meet consider themselves to be above-average in intelligence. To compound the problem, self perception of intelligence is inversely proportional to actual intelligence.

It's a larger problem for nerd-luvin' women than men. Men tend to overestimate their IQ by 25 points, women by 15 points.

In my experience people who say they are attracted to smart people are not smart people themselves. Maybe that's why they like it.
Of course I've often also seen people say their parter is really smart and it turns out their partner is a blithering idiot.
Eye of the beholder I suppose.

Heterosexual / homosexual aren't "types of kink".

If you need it dumbed down further, we can draw you some stick figures.
