Let's kick things off properly shall we?

Same-sex Marriage is settled law, the Supreme Court Says so and that's good enough for me.

Now as someone who paid attention to Trump throughout the election the only thing that is shocking about this is that he's saying it out loud and so early. Because when the whole transgender bathrooms issue came up he was the only Republican who effectively said "who the fuck cares where you piss?" and went on about his day. I don't think he cares much about them one way or the other.

More to the point however announcing this aloud means (hopefully) that he is singalling that Mike "Conversion Therapy" Pence needs to find some other pet project to work on because this won't be it.

Well, yes, he can go back to saying that now. And I hope he does just so I can enjoy that "been kicked in the teeth by a con man" look his supporters will have on their faces when they realize he's been just one blatant lie after another one.:)

You know what I'm much more pragmatic than moral. And like I said he never really said anything to the contrary of it. He was pretty quiet about it.

Keeping with the motif, "Official Trumpgood Thread" would've been a better title, methinks. :D

He is the master of just enough innuendo to dupe the intellectually challenged.

I suspect when he finds out how hard it will be to accomplish his "Plan" or agenda he brought to the office, he will trim his sails and try to keep ahead of the Neo-Con crazies he'll bring in from the establishment.

I hope he uses his catch phrase "You're Fired" a lot.:)

But he wants immigrants to immigrate legally!!!

That's RACIST!!!

Right, completely whitewash Trump’s past discrimination against persons of color as a landlord and much more recent statements generalizing Mexicans as rapists, drug dealers, etc.

You're almost as funny as Gingrich trying to fend off attacks on Steve Bannon by saying that he couldn't be an anti-Semite, he worked in Hollywood and a Wall Street (psssst, both places are just full of Jews ya know... Shhhh). The dumbass equivalent of claiming he can't be racist because he worked with some black guys before.

Enjoy that alt-right kook aid. No, that wasn't a typo.

No worse than super-predator Clinton.

And when did he generalize Mexicans as rapist, drug dealers etc??

I thought he was talking about the criminal illegal aliens he wants to deport.

Oh that's right~~!!!.....(D)'s don't know what the fuck "illegal" means and refuse to look the fucking definition up.

Enjoy that alt-right kook aid. No, that wasn't a typo.

What kook aid?

Oh that's right, being legal and all I suppose that makes me a racist!! LOL

Shit....my old man has a green card, what a fucking bigot!!! How dare he fill out paperwork. Clearly Asian males are just as bad as white people.

Have you demonized some racist white women for betraying the sisterhood and not voting Clinton?

I think you should join the rest of the "progressives" and demonize the shit out of white women now too....they are the racist enemy, the face of hate.

Only someone with no fucking mind of their own refuses to interpret this statement as racist. i.e. : You.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you (pointing to the audience). They’re not sending you (pointing again). They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people!

Nowhere in that rant was the word "illegal" used, not once. He was clearly speaking about ALL Mexican immigrants. He couldn't even stipulate that some or most ARE good people, Only that he ASSUMES some MAY BE.

Ok.

You got me!!

You found a quote where he didn't specify illegal.

But where is it racist?

Mexico is a shit hole and it does send rapist, drugs and violent criminals.

I noticed no liburhul celebrities were threatening to move to Mexico if Trump won....how racist is that? No one called any of them out for it.

Why arent' they flocking to beautiful Juarez for some cultural diversity??

You've apparently never never been past the border, never experienced the beauty of the country and its people, and are unaware of the reasons for the current cartelization. Hints:

* Many decades of corrupt one-party rule like the GOP wants to impose on USA.
* A useless USA "war on drugs" that, like USA Prohibition, promoted mafiyas.
* NAFTA, displacing millions of small farmers unable to compete with USA agribiz.

Please tell us how the nation of Mexico sends undesirables across the border. Tell us what you have witnessed with your own eyes.

Oaxaca is much more beautiful, comfortable, and diverse. Has a good-size USA ex-pat community, too. Cya at the spa.

Except Mexico doesn't send anybody and all the stats suggest that immigrants, illegal or not commit fewer crimes than natural citizens. That whole fear of being sent home thing is a damn good incentive. Actually we've known for a while that this is fairly standard fare for criminals of all stripes. Whatever their one crime is that seems to be the exception.

Drug dealers don't roll around with busted tail lights or rolling stop signs. But hey lets ignore reality.

You couldn't be more wrong.

So are you saying there has never been a rapist, drug dealer or murder in the US that originally came from mexico?

I'm saying that they aren't the norm by any stretch of the imagination and that he was clearly implying that the majority of these people were "Bad Hombres" not desperate people performing as I believe Bush puts it an act of love.

The fact that it's an act of love means relatively little to my legal system (I am gradually realizing that part of the reason for judges and juries is that circumstances DO matter and they are supposed to matter hence a jury of your peers. But that's another story.) It doesn't mean they didn't break the law, it doesn't mean they don't deserve to be punished and yadda yadda. But these people by an large and not coming to America to intentionally hurt us. And there is fairly ample economic reason to believe that they may not be hurting us much at all.

Indeed. USA's undocumenteds working steadily pay taxes and fees they never collect on; they rarely call for official services, preferring to lie low. And the nations of Mexico and Central America don't 'send' them; refugees flee wretched conditions (often exacerbated by USA policies) in their own lands. Those who can, prefer to stay home. Home and family are vastly important in Latino cultures; only desperation drives them away.

My two cents on this.

Of course its a sop to the left, but I also think Gay Rights probably won't be a big persecution thing, because they know they lost on that, and the Donald recognizes a losing issue when he sees it. If immigration were a losing issue, he'd dump that, too. I'm glad to see gays won't become a target, at least in the rhetoric. Of course, we'll be watching closely to see what he ACTUALLY promotes, policy-wise.

But there's something more insidious about this, to me.

One could argue that a lot of Nazi imagery, that White Nationalism of the Alt-Right, is a kind of gay display. Not exactly news to point it out.

What it signals to me is beneath the guise of acceptance of male homosexuality (not so much lesbians), is the most violent misogyny we've ever seen entering through the back door.

Quite a few gay men, open and out and proud, are the worst woman-haters on the planet. Most are not, but it's a sad fact.

I think the Peter Theils of this world are loving it.

I don't think Trump ever cared about gays one way or the other. Back when that whole Target use whatever bathroom you want thing was hot that the Republicans in general were backing while trying to get photos with . . . .Kim Davis? Was that miss I won't do my job issuing marriage licenses? When that was all going down Trump essentially said "Seriously, we have real problems."

The questions start coming down to how will he lead? He's claimed he would heavily delegate and Pence is pretty nasty on that front. Trump might just ignore him we just don't know.

Does that mean I can marry myself?
