Not sure if this is the right forum for this, if not my apologies. Well I took the plunge and submitted my first story. Now the waiting game. Thinking about making it into a multi chapter story but we'll see. Hopefully I won't freak out waiting lol. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had to deal with this lol.

Just hang in there. The first one is the hardest. My first was rejected for punctuation issues and I had to do a rewrite.

But it's all worth it.

Good Luck!

Ah that takes me back. Got some tough love from the lit authors here for my first story here, but I've never looked back.

Yay! Story was approved! Favorited twice so far and currently has a 3.75 rating. Not sure bad for first submission hopefully will go higher as it hangs around more.

Put a link in your signature line for the lazy people around here. ;)

Ok done! Thanks for the heads up TxRad

I just took a quick peek and want to make a suggestion. Keep your paragraphs smaller and put extra spacing between them.

Lit doesn't seem to format quite like word and you have huge blocks of text which make for harder reading.

Ok thanks for the suggestion Lovecraft68. I'll keep it in mind for the next part that I'm currently working on.

I'm in the same boat as you, so know that you're not alone! I am on my 60th or so doc page right now, and I'm almost finishing up with the first chunk. This'll be my first story submitted anywhere. I find it daunting because it is a glimpse into the way you think, but I guess that really is with any art, right? Movies, Paintings, Literature, Video Games, etc. I'm sure you'll do fine though!

The waiting for the decision is nerve wracking. But the elation once approved is great!

I'm fine with waiting. I can always revise and resubmit if I need to. I have been working on the past 60 pages for about a month, so waiting a little longer won't bother me much. It's just that I hope people like it.:)

Whatever you do, don't go and check on your submission or you'llbe pushed to the back of the queue

You can check in on your submissions page as much as you want to. Just don't click on the pending button. That's what would get the posting of your story sent to the back of the line (the system thinks you've pulled your story back and edited it).
