A proper politician would congratulate their opponent and then inform them that they would continue the fight from across the floor to make sure their opponent kept their word. Oh, I think he's said numerous completely disqualifying things prior to this. This has mostly been overshadowed now, but earlier on Friday he came out and said that in his opinion, the Central Park Five, who he had once called upon to be executed and who were exonerated by DNA evidence years ago, were nonetheless still guilty. That's no less disgusting that saying that sexual assault is one's right as a famous man.

I think they were clinging to the hope that they could actually win this thing if only they could make headway with white, suburban, educated women.
