We now find that one of the front runners for the presidency has indulged if a Tax avoidance scheme of the type that few of the ordinary voters could use. His personal "Charity" has been used to pay off his own personal expenses, Yet no one here is expressing outrage.
Apparently, some republicans think this makes him more qualified for the presidency, not less. I wonder, would anyone care to explain this?

It's not a scheme, it's the law.

Really? All kinds of Clinton supporters are crying about how evil it is.

Then they stfu and slink off once the Queen of Wall St. 's record gets tossed back at them.

Well, he's better at playing the system than Clinton....so that's a point for him.

Most people avoid taxes to the degree that they can. I have no problem with The Donald doing that, but I do have a problem with his misuse of the bankruptcy laws, because real people get hurt when he does that.

As opposed to people who cross the Clintons, who just end up committing suicide by shooting themselves twice in the back of the head.

People get hurt when they commit suicide; is that what you mean?

Like you I don't have a problem with the Donald taking advantage of the tax code. After all it's written for those who have the money to hire tax lawyers so they can avoid taxes.

That being said, I do have a problem with him trying to hide it AND telling me that he is going to change and do away with the very thing that has been so very lucrative for him. Really? The same man who can say opposing and conflicting things in back to back sentences and swear that both are true? Uh hu. Clinton may be not be totally on the up and up, but she's a babe in the woods, a neophyte next to the Donald. Have you ever watched the movie The Rain Maker"? Watch it, pay heed to it. That's what you will get.

He also didn't pay anyone when he had money to pay them. Also, you've got to be a pretty shitty businessman to have nearly a billion dollars in loses in a single year.

You forgot the alien implants, satanic rituals, and goat orgies. Or in this reality (not yours) that many more Bush cronies than Clinton cronies have died mysteriously. But why bother with reality? Fantasy is much more fun. Or in Tromp's case, it's Erotic Horror.

This is one of the big things that disgust me about Donald. He "renegotiates" after the fact by threatening the small businesses that have done work for him with legal action that will break them. He's done it over and over. He makes much of his money off the backs of hard working people by using his monetary power to make them take less then what he agreed to pay. It's not done because the job was done badly, it was done so the Donald can line his pockets with more cash at the expense of others. At the very same time he's telling people he'll bring back the jobs and improve the lot of the workers. Yea, I ain't got much respect for the man.

It just means that people are Soooo tired of the status quo that ANY change can only be better

I question the premise. I see the outrage on this being expressed all over the place, including here on Lit.

If the people are ready and willing for any change then put me in as "Dictator." I could save our country over $565 million dollars within the first year by abolishing Congress. Our elected Senators and Representatives have not the job they were sent to Washington for in over half a century or more. They are only concerned with enriching their pocketbooks instead of doing what is right and needed. I would have a flat tax rate with no loopholes. Everyone pays. Every agency would have to justify its continued existence. I would stop all Secret Service duties for past Presidents. The DEA would have its wings clipped, no more intimidating physicians because the doctor thinks or rather knows a patient's chronic pain requires strong painkillers.

As I trimmed back government I would start immediate repair of the 8,000 plus bridges that need repair or completely rebuild. All the mothballed ships, planes and Army equipment would be sold for scrap rather than placing them in storage to rust away. There would be no more "cost plus" contracts for any military equipment. I would contract for one fighter and one bomber that would be outfitted for use by all military. No more one fighter for the Air Force, one for the Navy and another for the Army and Marines.

All intelligence gathering agencies would share all information gathered, no exceptions. Any leaks of information would be viewed as treason, punishable by public beheading.

And you would be known as...."The Donald" :D

Right, exactly.

The shocker is that people are falling for this. Matt Taibbi raised a similar point to yours (his regarded Wall St but it applies here). He said that people see the dude on welfare buying booze, the single mom with the Gucci bag, or the cop getting two pensions because they live next to those people.

What they don't see are the rich assholes like Trump, Romney, or Jamie Dimon doing exactly that but ten thousand times worse AND destroying the economy, local businesses, the world generally at the same time.

Chump change! Even a competent government could piss that much away in a day. And even Trump could save that much. You're going to have to start at 10 billion to be a player.

Iraq War cost 700+ million a day. Any POTUS who pulls US forces back to US soil could save a few hundred million a day.

But the Clintons are enablers of those people. They've become rich by serving the rich.

Oh and I bet all 3 will be voting for Clinton.
