I spend a great deal of time self assessing, and reflecting. I'm a quiet person, and so I value quiet time. It iS recharging.

In the interests of furthering the objectives of this thread, I'll attempt a more considered response. I don't think I'm gullible although sometimes I can become overly persuaded by words of endearment if I'm distracted... Or maybe it's that I want to believe the sweet talk, be convinced in the sincerity if only for the moment.

I can resist trashy magazines (and gossip websites), and shop without buying a treat (sometimes). It's not material things I find hard to resist as I prefer experiences. I do find comfort and pleasure in sharing a bottle of good red wine or champagne, a delicious meal, or a night of live music. If a friend asks if I'd like to head out somewhere, I'll go if I can, I don't often turn such opportunities down. I may get to meet new people or do or see different things. Life is full of possibilities.

That resonates for me - I'm immune to material stuff (mostly), but show me a flyer for a great play, an interesting performer, a potential extra stopover on the way somewhere, and I'm a complete pushover... :eek:
