Favourite bagged snack (chips(crisps), pork rinds, that sort of thing)

I'm not much of a chip person - my go-to snack would be pistachios though. I always have a bag at work and a bag at home.

When I was a kid Ruffles were a favorite. They're still pretty good, but not what I remember. Of course, I remember the old McDonald's french fries, which were infinitely better than the crap fries they serve today. I bought some the other day, almost couldn't eat them. Damn shame what they've done to something that was so perfect.

By the way, the old McDonald's french fries I referred to earlier as being so perfect were fried in beef tallow instead of the weird combination of vegetable oils they use today. If you never tasted the old ones, you missed out on something good. I think they stopped using beef tallow about 25 years ago. So many things aren't what they used to be. :(

I quite like these

, not this brand, but this is the picture I found. I'm sort of thinking they would be nice in a bowl with carrots, both taste contrast and texture contrast. http://www.thetapaslunchcompany.co.uk/products/large/Altramuces--Lupin-Beans--500-g-2.jpg

My kids love lupini beans. When we have Italian themed dinners, they have a bowl of those, mixed in with some Sicilian olives, close at hand to nosh throughout the meal.

We usually bring some of this same mixture on picnics, or when we go to the beach for the day. A salty treat that accompanies ice-cold lager nicely.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned chicharones! We have a huge Hispanic population here and many Hispanic markets. My favorite market sells fresh made chicharones. Nothing better than fried pork belly and skin lightly salted.

Heaven.

Should have put pork rinds on my list. No brand name fav but have been known to devour the odd bag. Go good with beer.

i've been snacking on sunflower seeds as of late. guilty pleasure is a bag of nacho cheese doritos and a vanilla coke.

I hate diet coke... But diet coke and sunflower seeds is awesome!

You know, salty sweet kinda thing.

I had these amazing potato sticks when I went to Tokyo.

One of my day trips was to Mount Fuji. The guy holding the bag was an Australian tourist that let my buddy & I try some. I took a pic of it because I wanted to buy more when we got back to the Shinjuku district. I showed that pic to at least 20 different convenience store clerks to try to find more but no luck.

They were amazing and I only got to eat a friggin' handful...once.

Oh my goodness yes, but for me they are more of a special treat. Growing up we were not a family that ate a lot of fast food or junk food, but I have vivid memories of little red finger tips.

Also, being from Chicago, we would occasionally have these:

Now days, if I go down that road, it's the worst cling to your teeth, probably invented by a dentist 'food' around.
