There is a degree of pain involved no matter how much care is given. Acting is an art in which the performer's duty is to convince the audience that the story is real. The adult entertainment field should be held to the same standards, although it often is not. It is delusional to believe that all porn stars climax during filming, or that all erections are maintained for the duration of the filming process. It's a trick of the industry called "editing". Through editing, the viewer does not see the entire process the cast and crew endure to get the final print. Having spent years working in the profession of modeling and acting, perhaps I am more critical than some, but I prefer realism. The original post asked for an opinion, a critque, if you will. On the topic of sadism, I, personally, do not judge, nor do I fear, what I do not understand. For instance, I never understood the appeal of The Three Stooges, labeled as comedy, yet, the content was based largely on the principle of inflicting pain on others. My offense is in being labeled as anything without a clear understanding of the reasons behind my comment. As the post below your last one indicates, most people find anything that appears to border on non-consensual sex as taboo, and an unhappy participant does often imply that the actress is not consenting. I take no pleasure from giving pain and very little from receiving it.
Pain isn't the body's only way of telling us we are taking damage but it is one of the primary ways the body accepts, to begin whetting its appetite for pleasure. I don't know what the women are told as they are growing up but the boys in our family were told about coming into a time when the greatest pleasure we would ever know, would come from the source of our greatest pain.
