I don't plan on carrying a nine year grudge. I read the board before postings. It seems to be an hazing of all new people and some folks are desperately trying to be cool. Desperately cool. I pay them no mind.

But coming back to some of those n00bs that you're referring to:
I think that it works differently for different people.
-Some people are more prudent and able to exercise self-restraint, so they are able to sit back and think things through, without posting embarassing things.
-But others are a bit more impulsive, and joining such a forum can be a really exciting thing. So they're even less able to exercise restraint than usual, and they often end up posting things that seem intrussive or self-entitled, at first glance. But they often come around in time, if they're given a chance.
