EU vote tomorrow. the most important day in the history of England?

Yeah and thanks a lot. The Republican morons cost me 12 grand with that decision.

And the mayor of Calais is calling for an end to the Le Touquet agreement. I wonder what Farage and his merry band of racists think of that little consequence of their hate mongering?

Time to dissolve the UK. Australia and Canada are already more or less autonomous, so finish that process. Gibraltar wants out as does Northern Ireland and probably Scotland. What about Wales? The Falklands really belong to Argentina anyways. Give Bermuda to the Bahamas.

Let it go back to the one Queen Mum bowing bunch. Maybe even divide that if some of the regions want to join border countries.

tell me about the touquet agreement? i'm not really about looking it up this afternoon.

The one good thing to come out of it is that George Osborne will now never be PM.

Why? It was a vote across the whole of the UK. England and Wales voted OUT of the EU. Scotland voted massively for IN. Northern Ireland voted with a slight majority for IN.

Which speaks more of Scotland's desire for independence from the UK, imo.
and of the UK's desire to oppose the globalisation movement and to maintain it's own independence so to speak, as opposed to being ruled by the international Elites.

Also:
Whereas Sean is sl. right too - some of those who voted for were racially motivated too - not everyone.
You guys had A Lot of trouble since joining the Eu. Rise in crime and so on, given that UK had become the country of destination of both normal folks, and the criminally-inclined. I guess a lot of people want controlled immigration, as opposed to no immigration.

Canada is COMPLETELY independent. Read up on the Statute of Westminster 1931 and the repatriation of our constitution. Just because the Queen of Canada lives in England and multi-tasks her role as a head of state does not mean England has ANY legal grip on us.

When Pakistan and India fought a war in their early days of independence. The King found himself technically at war with himself being the head of state to both countries. And at the beginning of WWII he was simultaneously at war with Germany as sovereign of the UK and at peace with Germany as head of state for Canada (for a few days anyways).

We are ruled by the Prime Minister of Canada. Our CinC is the Governor General. Our sovereign who reigns not rules is the Queen of Canada NOT the Queen of England.

Many business leaders sit on more than one board of directors for different companies.

Shut the fuck up, you fucking retard. Go and pretend to be a woman somewhere else.

It's why all those migrant camps are in Calais and not Kent.
ah, i remember, thankyou.

now we have the scariest one lined up to take over - boris

boris/trump/boris/trump - twins separated at birth with that hair thing going on?

lol lol lol

Do you think that the laypeople who voted are all historians or political experts?
Of course not. Most of them are just plain folks like me, who don't have that much interest or knowledge about such things..

YOU are the retarded morons for coming up with all these ridiculous savant explanations for their mindsets, instead of trying to put yourself in the shoes of normal folks.

... Gibraltar wants out ...

Gibraltar is a special case. They see membership of the EU as their best defence against an aggressive Spain who wants to reclaim Gibraltar.

Gibraltar does not want to leave the UK. They want Spain to accept Gibraltar as an entity. The Spanish have mishandled discussions about Gibraltar. They have emphasised their claim as a sop to their own nationalists. If they had worked with the government of Gibraltar towards cross-border cooperation?

But Spain wouldn't talk to the Gibraltar government because they don't recognise it as legitimate.

I wish I could laugh at the Brits and say how foolish they look for this vote... but our presidential candidates are Clinton and Trump, so unfortunately, I don't think we have much room to criticize.

If your state had the kind of federal laws that the EU have been imposing on the UK, and the tax bill to fund that federal government?

You'd vote Leave too.

But as for Trump and Clinton? We in the UK had a difficult choice, both alternatives which could, and still can be, wrong. You have an impossible choice between two awful candidates.

The nimrods in Brussels finally crossed a line the British could not tolerate when they made plans dictating to people as to how they had to make tea and toast. :D

I didn't have a strong opinion one way or the other. I could see pros and cons of both sides.
I don't think leaving will have a long term detrimental impact. Things will be different of course, but I doubt a lot worse. Or a lot better for that matter.

Same broad, different hats.

Ah, so that's what's up with all the hats.

That was the problem for many UK people with this referendum.

We didn't know which was the 'right' way to vote. There were problems with either choice.

When all the senior politicians were telling the UK voters that voting to leave would bring economic disaster and Biblical plagues, some few decided on the basis of 'Fuck You, Lying Politicians!". But most people I had spoken to before the vote could see that there were serious issues on both sides and they would have to make a balanced decision.

If there had been a 'Don't Know' alternative on the ballot paper, that might have been the majority verdict.
