Notice how we get distracted about things and then something unexpected and shitty happens?

Intel x86s Hide Another CPU That Can Take Over Your Machine -- You Can't Audit it

Further explaining the matter, the author claims that a system with a mainboard and Intel x86 CPU comes with Intel Management Engine (ME), a subsystem composed of a special 32-bit ARC microprocessor that's physically located inside the chipset. It is an "extra general purpose computer." The problem resides in the way this "extra-computer" works. It runs completely out-of-band with the main x86 CPU "meaning that it can function totally independently even when your main CPU is in a low power state like S3 (suspend)." On some chipsets, the firmware running on the ME implements a system called Intel's Active Management Technology (AMT). This is entirely transparent to the operating system, which means that this extra computer can do its job regardless of which operating system is installed and running on the main CPU.

Who's your Big Brother Now?

It's there for low power modes.
It would be pointless sending a computer to sleep if it was still using the main CPU as the power usage would barely go down on most systems.

Like so many other things, you cannot buy what you want, you can only buy what they are willing to sell you.

And Big Brother is willing to give you the latest Operating System Free!

Ever wonder what your computer is doing while it takes two minutes to launch?

Nope! I figure Gates' crew is compiling info on my activities. Maybe the 5 Eyes will give the info a sniff and then it will be sold to some marketing firm.

If I'm going to bang my head against a wall it will be the one up against racists and gun nutters. At least Big Brother has our best interests at heart.

Don't forget the 5 Eyes are on our side.

Blackberry is quite up front on it's policy of complete co-operation with law enforcement. Doing wrong, watch out. Not doing any thing wrong, meh!

All I have to worry about is annoying marketers. Cheap price.

Well Trump has a sale going on now. His shit is not really cheap, all he wants is EVERYTHING you hold dear.

In the short term and directly, Trump is your problem not mine. You stand to lose everything you hold dear. Not me! :D Hope I am not coming across as too smug. :)

Even 15 seconds is an eternity in computing times.

I am less concerned about Big Brother getting any info on me then I am about how the banner adds change as per my previous searches. Helping a lady friend with bathroom renos has half my banners offering bathroom one-piece inserts. Or how YouTube plays local advertisements. Customizing for my greater enjoyment and use. BS! Spying on my private business and where I am to sell me more shit.

I'll gladly hand over my whole life story to the Mounties or CSIS before I will tell a telemarketer shyte.

I'm the oldest sibling in my family. What's so bad about big brother?
