I'm trying to decide how I feel about this. The bourbon sounds great. I'm not a fan of adding chocolate to things that are already incredible, and pecan pie is certainly incredible. But chocolate and nuts are a pretty good combination. I want to try this now. cursing current sugar free status!

While I've never had this particular pecan pie variation, I do make a chocolate pecan pie that is divine. Not as in added chips, but where the whole body of the pie is chocolate.

The sugary bit?

I just love pecan pie. I love it. lOvE IT. I could write love poetry to it. I could never take an apple pie, even a tarte tatin, over a pecan pie. I couldn't choose between pecan and pumpkin though. That would be impossible.

I'm starting to thing a chocolate crust would be interesting in this Derby pie.

I don't think my life has had enough pie in it.

You would enjoy our Thanksgiving, then. Last year we had nine people at the table and 14 pies available for dessert. Plus a pudding.
