Why is it nowadays you can get a medicinal Mary Jane script for a sprained pinkie, but having more than two double shots of whiskey is looked upon as something to be quilty about?

In trying to rectify this horrible state of affairs, I'm cracking open my Duty Free bottle of Johnny Black. Double shot. With just a splash of water to make it bloom.
