Sounds like Collaring, but with an anklet for a little more discretion.
Hubby put an anklet on me to remind me that I am his love slave. Anyone ever heard of this or done this
Any item only has the symbolism you give it.

Sorry, I came up through the Clubs, where things were more formal, rules and contracts for everything, we had the cops to answer too.
I used to wear an anklet .Hubby enjoyed me doing this as he likes to share me . I have to say that I didn't have any offers or sexual encounters by wearing the anklet . Not sure that many people realized that it had any significance .![]()
The cops dictated what is acceptable for collaring?
On topic, I love the idea of an anklet or bracelet as a collar.
Not collaring per say, but contracts, clothes, hygiene, age checks, we would get raided at least once a week by one Georgia Department of Somthing a week. So our paperwork had to be spot on.

Cops wanted to see useless, non legally binding individual relationship contracts? Or was this like paperwork for ownership of the building? I can see them harassing a club with things that actually matter (building code violations etc.) but not over who tops and who bottoms or what they're wearing.
Employment contracts, STD screens, open wounds, Alchoal training, Taxes, waste removal, dress codes for employees... They treated us like strippers, and health codes as stringent as a good tatoo parlor. But out of that formality we had rules on rules for behavior, and conduct, and relationships had to understandable from a glance, no ambiguity, or John NASCAR, could be getting a Sub out the door and the bouncers think it is okay. So anklets, were a real thing amongst the performers, becouse the collar had to be the clubs.

I agree it can be, certainly between people in a relationship. However we do not live in a vacuum and there are always the ideas of histories of the anklet in different cultures which can add meanings depending on your culture or geography. These might add something to the meaning for you, or make the wearing of it in public in some roles/places or according to some employment dress codes feel inappropriate ( like some other jewellery given between people)
