If I walked up to a pregnant woman and stabbed her several times, causing her unborn child to die wouldn't I be charged with murder?

Would that woman and her husband feel the loss of a child? Why should we allow women to kill their children? Why should we allow the fathers to be removed from the decision making process? Why are minors allowed to get abortions without parental consent, but that same minor couldn't get a tattoo, go on a class trip, or enter an "R" rated movie without their parent.

Is seeing an "R" rated movie a bigger deal than getting an abortion?

I have a close friend who supported his (now-ex) girlfriend through having an abortion. We were in our third year of law school (we were part-time so an extra year was added so earning lots of $$$ was farther away, but I digress) and he told me on a class break, "I knocked up (GF.)" Just casually.

He supported her through having the procedure. He is far more qualified to speak on abortion than any woman who has never been in that situation simply because he was there.

I do not like abortion. I'm squeamish about it. I imagine a lot of people are, even if they are pro-choice as I (narrowly) am. My reaction to him telling me this was to offer to adopt the child (we were sure we couldn't have one of our own until my wife got pregnant in September.)
