I still haven't read Watchman.
I am choosing not to read it because I am told that it isn't great and TKAM is my favorite book. I don't want to chance it.

It's one of my faves for sure and I'm kinda reluctant to read it for the same reason.
Truman Capote was an extraordinary writer who lived across the street from Harper Lee, they were best friends, and she was his research assistant out in Kansas when he wrote IN COLD BLOOD. She was a nobody from Collard Greens, Alabama who created a colossus and best seller first time she picked up a pencil and licked its lead. Happens all the time.
I mean, what are the odds for two kids from nowhere cranking out two of the most important books of the 60s! Then one of them did zip for the rest of her life.
I'm not surprised you believe Barking Bitch Hillary is the Second Cumming.
