They swear he aint conservative. He isn't conservative. He's a social moderate.

I suspect most of Bernie Sanders support are moderate Hillary Haters who will jump to Trump because he's moderate. The GOP says he aint conservative! He aint a socialist, either. So he must be moderate on social issues. Prolly wont over turn gay marriage.

He's more conservative than Hillary...and way more conservative than Bernie. None of the other "more conservative" repub candidates have a snowball's chance in hell to get elected.

The new White house slogan could be:
Qu'ils mangent de la brioche.

He is an opportunistic populist and nothing more. He has no ideological system underpinning his policy stances. It's not even a liberal-conservative spectrum issue. Populism is an entirely different sociological phenomenon that crosscuts our standard political landscape. It's like somebody asking you what color the sun is and you respond by saying it's smooth.

You cant beat him with unicorns.

How can that be any worse than a president that believes in an ideology that is 180 degrees in opposition to your own?

At least he stands up for Soviet veterans. None of the other RINOs are doing that.

I wasn't aware that I was comparing Trump to anyone else. So I am not sure how to respond to the "better than" question. Anyhow, I strongly dislike him.

I really think this election is going to be weird. If Trump wins the nomination an establishment republican could easily enter the general, split the conservative vote, and pave the way for a democrat. If trump loses I think he could easily renege his pledge and run independent. I think the chances of Hillary being indicted are going up fast, and even without a prosecution I think her candidacy sinks. I actually think it's as likely that we have a brokered convention as it is we have clinton or Sanders as nominee. A brokered candidate like Biden or Warren would probably fare better in a general anyway.

This is shaping up to be the weirdest election in generations.

I will vote for Bernie Sanders in the primary. If Hillary wins the primary I will vote for her in the general election. Nevertheless, I am glad that Donald Trump is in this race. I like a lot of what he is saying. I have no use for the Republicans who are condemning Trump.

The GOP has no one who competes with Trump, and Trump wins over Hillary or Sanders. You got a rat in your pocket to toss into the race?

Trump's biggest asset this early in the race is that he's about as smooth as a cactus dipped in Sriracha. He's entertaining and attention grabbing and steps on all the toes that a disgruntled portion of the country love to see being stepped on. It also does a good job hiding what a lightweight he actually is. It's easy for a low information voter to mistake bluster for strength, word salad for policies, and self assurance for competence. It's yet to be seen if that holds for the general election.

But yeah, he ain't all that conservative. He's a moderate with the occasional far-out weirdness thrown in for shits and giggles (far right on immigration, a leftist at times on trade - he and Sanders see eye to eye on the TPP, iirc). The question is what the GOP will learn from that. If he wins the primary, will the pundits concede that the actual Republican voters aren't really that far right? If he gets the GOP nod and then loses, will we hear the same "He lost because he wasn't conservative enough" mantra as after the last two elections? If he becomes POTUS, will he be the de facto ideological compass of the GOP or will the party disintegrate?

Fun times. I'm just glad I don't run a company based in the US like I used to do, so it quite literally ain't my business anymore. Except of course that whoever gets elected will have nukes and shit.

NEWSFLASH
All American voters are low info knuckle walkers, the rest are Swede wannabees.

Trump uses Hitler's election strategy. Hitler never screamed hate speech, he always spoke of how wonderful Germans and Germany was, and all the good days ahead.

Trump is inevitable like Hitler was inevitable.
