Awesome pics! Very underrated things our Great Lakes. I have international friends who are fascinated by these huge fresh water seas. Very shallow Erie. Blows up some big waves. The Port has a bad rep for killer undertows. 150m from shore. Cool!

I take comfort in the fact that any violence that comes out of these imports will likely be in a large center quite a distance from where I conduct my life.
My only hope is that it is in Ottawa, preferably at the parliament so these bleeding heart liberals can finally have their minds wrapped around what fanaticism means.
Currently, they seem to have appealed to the broader population that has a success complex that they need to shed by giving to a common cause.
They are estimating spending 1 billion $ on this wave of 25,000 refugees.
Meantime, there are about 250,000 street people already in Canada that are/will be in worse shape than the refugees.
Perhaps we should gather them all up and go to an embassy (US, UK, GER, etc) and ask for refugee status.
I doubt the Lieberals would actually comprehend what was happening.

If no one tried to discover the New World before Europe had perfected it's self, we would all still live in Europe. Hell yeah, we have homeless here. And if the Liberals overdue the good decent thing by overly neglecting home issues they will be held accountable in four years.
Some times you just have to step up and do the right thing. We are one of the richest, most developed and diverse countries in the world. If we can't or don't, who will? We could end poverty in Canada at a stroke if we wanted to bad enough. It would take some sacrifices on the part of the rich and the middle class. But heaven forbid we have to accept buying a compact 4-cyl car when we really want a V-8 truck.
We aren't doing enough for our homeless now anyways. An influx of high birth rate young families might add to the tax base that can be later taxed for social net.
If these were Dutch citizens feeing rising sea levels we would be fighting to get more than our share of refugees and no one, absolutely no one, would say boo about it. Think about that!

Winnipeg may be better off than Detroit...so yeah Canadian shitholes are better than American shitholes. But where white people actually pay for their own houses? I dunno, I'm really starting to like North Carolina, compared to a bland Ontario suburban shithole, like say Oakville.
People are friendlier, right to work state so there's always employment being ATTRACTED there as opposed to being driven out, and the landscape is just more interesting compared to the monotonous tracts of Ontario.

Sharia law will never ever happen. Unless so many Muslims come to Canada to completely dominate by population and level of conservatism. It requires all provinces to agree on constitutional changes. We would have to toss out separation of church and state. Fundamentally take the whole country and rework it as an Islamic republic.
I hope you don't spend too much time worrying about this. It may distract you from the time you spend looking for falling meteorites.

If we don't... BS again - we already do our part by taking in a very respectable percentage of the pop every year. And I for one do not appreciate seeing tax increases to lower everyone's' standard of living. 1 billion dollars to import 25,000 people. That's $40,000 each person. Even if in 2 years all of the adults in those groups have jobs paying $60,000 yr, (highly unlikely) it will never be paid.
High influx of what? I watched the buses deliver these imports last night and the first 8 people off the bus were over 50. Know what that means? Health cards for one, and never having contributed. 10 years from now CPP, again, likely never will contribute.
Not only that, all of these people coming in this month have been in a sponsored pipeline for years - family members predominately - and that means a number of them are not refugees at all; economic migrants is the correct term.
Having a socialist society just guarantees that everyone will sink to same low level of economic "fairness". Ask the Swedes what has happened to their little socialist utopia by welcoming hundreds of thousands of refugees.
If these were Dutch what? The Dutch would stay and fight for what is theirs and do what it took to survive. WW2 is proof of that.
