I'd be interested in seeing an actual news article about it, but everything seems to be on twitter and tumblr. The only actual article I can find claims the riots were all staged. Somehow I kinda doubt that.

Definitely looks to me like he made the first grab. I wondered about that when I looked more closely at the pic. His hand was on the strap, her arm was through it. Based on that, it's more likely he was trying to grab it.
