Oh Que!

You're all insane! Done with this Dr. I have to see a specialized surgeon on Monday then have my preoperative exam and surgery will be Tuesday or the following Tuesday depending not how much time my surgeon. Feels this will take. They are going to repair the two torn ligaments and transplant another one from near the big toe so they can remove the one that totally ripped off. They are also going to remove the screw that has migrated and the bone chips

We're probably insane. It's a tough stretch you're going through. I'd didn't know all the details. It'll go well! No more short skirt comments. Good luck!

Maybe, but I am not the one with a screw loose.

Not a fan of either migrating screws or bone chips. Mine seems to be where they left it. It helps that the screw is anchored to a 1/2" steel rod.*

*and no that is not the only mighty rod of steel in my body corporeal.

That was supposed to say piss

Oh, I'm aware of that. It was just more fun to pretend I wasn't. :D

Well damn, woman! I hope it's a successful surgery, with a speedy, complete recovery.

 Glad I actually looked for the footnote. :D I have a plate and seven screws in my left ankle. This is a fucked up crowd.

Good luck!
I usually break bones. Only tore an ankle ligament once. It sucked. Plus everyone was laughing at me. I stepped off a stupid stool and twisted my ankle.
I had three jumps the day before, the last one landing in a horse coral, and I didn't get hurt there.

Ouch. How does that work with airport security?

Jumps? As in out of a perfectly good airplane kind of jump?

Yup.
That last jump before I messed up my ankle was a fun one. The wind picked up and I almost ended up landing in the forest. That would have been very ugly. With some maneuvering and lots of luck just ended up scaring the owner/big boss' horses. Ok, it was pure luck.

I've never had a problem with security. I've never set off an alarm, surprisingly. I always expect it though.

When I was able to ambulate myself on crutches and figured out how to drive the VW with only the left leg, one of the first trips I made 'for fun' was to Sky Harbor. I was very disappointed that all that steel, more than enough to make a gun barrel and slide out of, did not set it off.

I am told it is partly the composition of surgical steel and partially the shielding of bone.

Post 911 they must've cranked them up because every once in a while I can set them off. Sometimes when wanded in clubs, but not usually.

Yup.

My Dad had to jump off these big simulation towers in pilot training. I think it was sort of like bungy jumping. This would have been like late 1950's. They didn't have them actually jump out of a plane because they figured you might get hurt on your first jump, so that might as well be when you actually needed to jump.

He said always said the concept of jumping out of an airplane when you can ride the airplane to the ground is silly. Especially so, if the airplane is in perfectly fine shape.

I've always thought I should do it once, but I can't imagine I would like it. I am not fond of falling, at least the accelerating part. Which is crazy, I love horizontal acceleration. Just not on the vertical axis.

I am sandwiched between to thrill-seeking adrenaline-junkie chicks. Not complaining, mind; just making an observation.

Ah. That makes sense. Thank you.

Yup, one of the guys who was in my first jumper class ended up in the hospital. It was only his leg, but it wasn't pretty. It was his fault for not landing properly.

The pilots were always making fun of us saying only insane people will jump out of a perfectly operating airplane.
I never said I was sane :D

So no sex standing up. Got it.

I jumped out of a plane once. It was exhilarating.

Bungee jumping is fun too, and way less expensive. :D

I want to jump out of a plane!

I have been dealing with this ankle thing since I was 5 years old when I broke it for the first time. I also broke my tibia and fibula combo in my left leg. The smaller bone is still broke and will never heal. The bigger one they put a plate in. I managed to crack the plate and then they took it out.

Surgery doesn't scare me. The tedium after the surgery does!

I will catch up with you all later - after work

Oh sure...blame the victim. Not say, . . . gravity, . . . or the person that convinced him it was a reasonable thing to do?
