Hurricane Patricia

Patricia is apparently the stongest Pacific Coast Hurricane. How that compares with Caribbean/Atlantic strengths? I don't know, but Patricia is a beast by any measurement.

It appears to be stronger than Camille. I lived through that one, and wouldn't wish that on anybody. It's also quite a bit larger than Camille was. We've been getting rain from it already in North Texas.

Explains lack of genetic variety in humans.

Does anyone remember watching the nat geo show, human genome project I think, where they were talking about all land based life coming from one type of freshwater algae? That all land based life has the same dna building blocks, its just arranged differently. We're like 98% similar to a mushroom.

It's not that close. We share 75% with field mice. Much of our DNA is responsible for body shape. The four limbs and the bilateral symmetry of our bodies. Mice have same four limbs and a symmetrical body on each side. That sort of thing.

Glad I live where I do. I'll take the worst snow storm ever over even a tropical storm. Get's real bad up here, we get a snow day. Maybe some snow shovelling. Don't have to rebuild a whole town or drag the trailer home back up on it's blocks.

Best of luck riding it out!
