Talkin' loud ain't sayin' nothin'.

I just don't get it....7 years almost of the guy pretty much blowing the subject of gun control off and the RWCJ is still convinced Obama, the Kenyan Communist is coming for their guns and Bibles.

I would laugh but it's just so fucking sad....

Its not the mental illness that is doing this. That is just something to blame.

The problem is that these guys are raised to think they are special snowflakes and everyone (including women) should just give them what they want.

The parents are totally responsible for this issue.

JOURNALISM: “Note the erasure of the racial element. As The Daily Beast reported: Harper’s father is white and his mother black.”

It’s like the “White Hispanic” thing again.

You're right being an introvert isn't a metal disease...but so many people think it is.

IDK how many times I've seen it equated to being antisocial which is just wrong. So instead of giving them the space they need parents try to socialize them and it blows up in their face and drives the kid fucking nuts.

^^^

As a massive introvert, I can say that nothing drives me more insane than someone trying to "socialize" me.

I don't own a gun, though. Maybe I'd scratch someone's fricking eyeballs out. I dunno.

Consider:

1,100+ = the number of lives killed each year in Ohio from gun-related instances; 58.6% of which are suicides

2,482 = the number of accidental overdose deaths in Ohio in 2014

Now, I haven't surfed all the numbers, but I'd be willing to wager these discrepancies are at least the norm for most of the states, and I imagine that the dominance of drug-caused deaths is even much greater in many states.

What brought this to mind is a story this morning about a 31-year-old Ohio man found dead in May of this year from injecting heroin and the painkiller fentanyl (Ohio authorities say about 20% (504) of all drug deaths in the state last year were fentanyl-related).

The story, obviously, is yet another attempt to sedate the devastation of the massive overdose death rate in America by offering itself as a delusional drug of words (eg: the death occurred 5 months ago); the message: drug overdosers are victims.

The deceased's first wake-up call happened when he was 18 while under the influence of pot, when he crashed the car he was driving and his passenger best friend was killed. For most of us, that would've completely changed our lives right there. And being convicted and sentenced to 6 months - 2 years in a state corrections facility specializing in rehabilitating young offenders would've been society's grace to assist us in making that change.

Not for the deceased: "He relapsed after his release and was imprisoned again from 2005 to 2010."

Once he got out, he joined his family in Ohio and struggled with his sobriety. He went through stretches of being clean and using, his mother said. He had three sons, including a 4-year-old boy his parents have raised from birth, said King-Anderson, an administrative assistant at a foundry.

O'Connor was a kind man with a charismatic smile who taught himself to play guitar and was artistic before his addictions took over his life, his mother said. Her son was open about his drug use and the family encouraged him to talk in the hopes it would help his recovery, O'Connor said.

Fifteen years of openness about accepted drug use and all the devastating irresponsibility connected to it, his family along for his ride, never putting their feet down and proclaiming NO MORE!, simply accommodating the junkie until the day he did himself in.

Enablers? Listen to his mom sing the standard, "She hopes with her advocacy to warn people of the dangers of addictions and to help families understand" tune:

"You look at an addict, and you can't just tell them to stop," she said. "It's like looking at somebody and saying, 'Stop having cancer.'"

Like the shooter's obviously enabling mother, I do not hold this mother responsible for her son's actions in any way - no matter how enabling they both were, the individual is always - totally - responsible for their own decisions.

Blame, though, can be placed at both their feet for bearing a child and then failing to solidly instill that most rudimentary and responsible of all human lessons.

Generations now of acceptance and tolerance and even championing of some of the most devastating curses ever known to mankind has produced a culture wherein death is hardly any different than life. From the cyber banging phenom now in L.A., to the rising number of drug-induced deaths, to the random, sometimes mass shootings of innocent others, to alarming polls of the attitudes of 18-30-year-olds, all kinds of folks are proclaiming SOMETHING HAS CHANGED! in the wake of deadly destruction happening more and more often not only in American, but in world society today.

The sane answer lies not in further restricting guns or drugs, as it doesn't lie in outlawing yelling FIRE! in a crowded theater. That sane answer only lies in raising children to do the right thing whenever all of life's inevitable evils arise, like drilling school children in the right thing to do when FIRE! is yelled in a crowded school.

Alas, if there is to be blamed placed outside of adult individuals who commit actions that devastate others, it is here, on us teachers, who've, so many of us, basically abdicated our jobs because, like the mothers above, it seems it's much more dear today to champion Live and Let Live as the devastation abounds, than to demand NO MORE!, roll up our sleeves, and do our job's right.

You said he's mixed race, busybody says he's black.

Are you this stupid, or is it an act?

Are you so stupid you think someone with a black mother isn't considered black in this country? Busy's point is the shooter isn't white. How is that a lie?
