New Page ...

I believe some people have a job and some have a career or a vocation. If you love what you do, you have the latter.

I wonder how many differences there are between nursing there and here?

I don't know if I can say I love what I do anymore. Even the volunteer work has been super stressful today.

I love nurses. I can't even tell you the last time I saw a doctor. Right now I see a nurse and a nurse practitioner when I have to go, and have never seen the Dr. At this office.

NRSE, I hope we can make the mountains to see the leaves this fall.

T4T, we'll have to learn how to send smoke signals.

There are times where a career can become a job. They do go hand-in-hand.

Some people confuse a career with a job. If you chose it or were called to it, if it brings you satisfaction, it is a career. If it's something you do well, but you don't have a passion for it or a calling - even if you have good days - it is still a job.

Oh and I meant to ask. What are gas prices where everyone is ? Our Sam's Club was$1.65 yesterday. Sweet👍

Tuesday it was $2.03 pretty much everywhere. This morning I had to fill up. Now it's $2.39. Always goes up on Thursdays around here and will drop again later Friday night. Screw you for the weekend fill up.

I used my Kroger fuel points and got $0.60 off a gallon so only paid $1.79. Wish I had a bit more in the tank that I could have waited it out a few more days. Knew I should have filled up on Tuesday! :(

Good Morning from the Heart Center of my workplace. I'm sitting with my Grandad who was admitted last night. They have him away for procedures right now. Classic cardiac symptoms but no history or heart disease. My night was long and I'm hungry. I may have to sneak to the Tower Cafe.

Thinking of you and your Granpa ... I have been there with my Dad a few years ago and they fixed him :rose:

Thinking of you NRSE. As you know I lost my dad to cardiac issues and I have my own. Try to think positive.

My mom is off today for her Alaskan cruise. She goes to Vancouver first for a day or so, she will be able to see my uncle (her younger brother) for the first time in several years.

NRSE I hate that. My thoughts with you and your family also. Could it maybe be stress over recent events? I hope it's nothing serious. Hello to everyone also. I'm sitting outside enjoying a mild fall breeze.

Let us all hope when next we see NRSE she has some positive news to share regarding the situation.

Thank you all for the well wishes !

He is currently in the nuclear lab for a Thallium stress test then an echo. He is in good spirits and hanging in there. The Cardiologist visited yesterday and said all of his enzymes and x rays looked great. They are thinking a heart valve issue and not heart muscle. Possibly cholesterol or plaque. That's about all I know. I'm so tempted to call off tomorrow. Not sick just exhausted. I can't afford it but...............

I am one sleepy hungry grumpy Nurse ! I still want pizza hut. Maybe this evening.

Thanks again. All the testing came back normal. He was discharged this evening. He and my Dad are flying back home Sunday. I'm working tomorrow as I need the money. I'm meh about that. But I did get my pizza and leftovers for tomorrow.

I think due to recent life altering issues maybe it's stress or panic attacks ? Losing someone you have been married to 60 years has to be unimaginable.

Hello and good thoughts NRSE. Panic attacks feel very much like heart attacks. I know because I've had both. I hope you enjoy your food treats.

My parents were married 1 month shy of 56 years.

Family history:

Mom's aunt passed away. Within a week, uncle, husband of 60+ years, passed away. There is a medical condition called a broken heart. Yeah, some non-romantics will say it's stress, but broken heart sounds right.

I also agree with you RJ. I think grief can kill. I co-chair a grieving and loss group. But some also use it as a chance to re-focus and find new purpose. I think it depends on the individual.

Still writing - my mind hasn't been this active in some time.

Finishing this page - I got another one done. That's two in a matter of days and there's one completed after that that just needs editing. Got to keep the numbers growing, but this does bode well for my deadline. Oh boy, I hope the readers like - but some cash won't hurt my feelings either.
