In an interview that was published on Monday, McConnell told Politico that the 2016 presidential race was a “critical election” to restoring “the growth rates and the greatness we’ve had most of our history.”

The Kentucky Republican reportedly “scoffed” at the idea the economy was improving.

McConnell said that business leaders complained to him that they had “a hard time finding people to do the work because they’re doing too good with food stamps, Social Security and all the rest.”

Still, he promises that the Senate will at least have a vote on defunding Planned Parenthood, if only to prove that it can’t actually go through. But for the most part, the main point that McConnell wants us to understand is that Senate Republicans are just waiting for the 2016 election so that come 2017, they can really get something exciting done.

Like eliminating all the food stamps and Social Security that are depriving employers of workers.

The problem is there is a small grain of truth to what he said. There are numerous articles showing what people get on food stamps/welfare/etc compared to what they would make if they worked.

Depending on the number of hours and the amount per hour, it has been shown people will make less working than they do not working.

This doesn't absolve him of his, and businesses, nonsense about people not wanting to work since other articles have shown when businesses say they can't find people what they really mean is they can't find people willing to work for a salary which hasn't been adjusted for inflation in 20 years while working over 40 hours a week. One need only look at the tech industry to see the daily lies about not being able to find people to fill jobs.

Microsoft, to use one example, lays off 5,000 people then turns around and complains they have hundreds of job openings they can't fill. Ummm.......

I was thinking Walmart too, and there it was father down in the article. Gotta love a company that trains it's employee's during orientation how to sign up for food stamps and manages to get the backing of the right wingers that have to support it's under paid employees.
