Vacations!

I finally have one planed. This will be the first on since 2012 and the first one I want to go on in a long time!

I'm going here the last of July.

Right now it looks like I am going by myself...but that's OK. I think I can survive a week in that area.

nothing planned over here: i only started a new job recently and don't have sufficient time off to make it worthwhile yet. i may visit my sister in the western part of VA some time this summer. it's been a while and i miss her. :>

Earth Mama Angel Baby Nipple Butter. Fun to say for dad, soothing for mom, lanolin free for baby.

I got my vacation in earlier this month. Did a lot of driving, some flying, and spent some time making robots. Good memories.

I dunno if you'd call them vacations per se, but. . .

I met one of my FB besties in person in June, which required that I fly for the first time.

My husband and I are meeting a couple of my FB friends in South Carolina at the end of July, I may be going to Canada in a semi-work-related capacity in September, and my husband and I are likely meeting yet another one of my FB friends in November to catch an SEC football game (this friend is affiliated with one of the teams and can get us tickets and lodging).

I haven't been on a real vacation for many, many years. The last was a budget trip to Vegas in 2008, I think.

We do spend a month or so in Kelowna, BC every summer, though. It's hardly a typical vacation when my husband is working all sorts of odd hours, but we try to make it as vacation-like as possible, and I can't complain about getting free lodging, board and gas in such a gorgeous place.

Still, I'd really love to take an adult vacation to someplace tropical in the coming year. *crosses fingers and toes*

We're renting a house on the Outer Banks of NC. Uncrowded beach, cool house, awesome fishing and scuba diving, and bonfires on the beach instead of boardwalk at night - possibly one of the best deals in vacation for folks who like that life.

Good Question, as I do not at this time have a wife or girlfriend. I never was a hand at picking ladies in bars and such places. I normally like to get to know a woman a bit before getting naked.

So I'm going to do the River walk one evening and night sampling the food and drink. I want to take a drive through Central Texas, I hear there is a scenic drive that bikers take with places to see and eat at along the way.

I am taking my fishing gear with me for Canyon Lake itself and I might slide over to the Gulf to a fishing pier. I may well rent a boat and go fishing. Then General exploring the area and resting.

Naturally, if I meet a lady and she seems interested in me I would take some time to get to know her...

But relaxation and spontaneity is the name of the game I plan on getting sidetracked a bit!

I'm back!

Broke and tired.

Did everything a single person can do around there. Everything takes so much time and money.

Where did all those people and houses come from!

Well, my niece is back home with my sister.

She and my daughter got along really well for approximately one day. After that, they got along ok one minute, drove each other crazy the next. Last night they weren't getting along and my niece said, "I can't wait to go home." My daughter responded, "Trust me, I can't wait for you to get there!"

When we dropped her off, they hugged each other, crying. "I don't want to go home, I'll miss you" "I'm going to miss you so much".

I'll just be glad to get back into my own bed after a week of sleeping in my daughter's twin bed.

After some togetherness vacations in the last few months, I will be left alone for 3 weeks in a couple months. I have not decided yet how to spend those weeks. My options (not mutually exclusive) include:

* go shopping for fine musical instruments
* go camping throughout the Western states
* flash-out on drink, drugs, and debauchery
* visit (leech off of) family
* practice music intently
* write smut intently
* construct something odd
* avoid wearing clothes
* roll cherry bombs into gopher holes
* carve a few more wooden gods

I am open to suggestions. [foolish /me]

It's been too long since I went on an extended camping trip. Id like to pack my 5C's into my rucksack and hike off into the bush for a week.

I don't think digging post-holes and hanging out a third story window staining trim counts as an actual vacation despite the adrenaline and the ocean breeze, but if you have to help with home repairs, I recommend you do so overlooking the ocean. I was seriously thinking of packing the truck and seeing if one can eke out an existence as an itinerant handyman. The handymen there, despite lots of unemployment, seem less than handy.

I flew in so I had no car and minimal clothing. I assumed I would steal or borrow a car, hit a thrift store and sneak in some me time. I was swamped with muscle straining work for 10 days. I slipped out once, and hit a rock-shop and an antique store. I got 4lbs of abrasives and a nice little malachite egg.
