The Official Author's Hangout 2015 Summer Lovin' Contest Support Thread

You can put all sorts of HTML coding in stories, including bolding and italics. I learned the hard way, however, that colored fonts are a no-no. You'll probably want to check with Laurel before using anything beyond hyperlinks and simple formatting.

The coding for a hyperlink is <a href="insert target URL here"> insert linked text here </a>

URL's are supposed to be limited to inside Lit.

I saw that you posted a few hyperlinks at the end of your Pool Boy story.

How did you do that?

I didn't even know that was possible.
Here is the text for my author's note with HTML included:
<i>Author’s Notes:<br>* A huge thanks to my editor AnnaLinguist<br>* Please vote and comment! They are my only “payment” for this story<br>* See my <a href=http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=1535121&page=bio>Literotica profile</a> for extended author’s notes<br>* If you find any typos or grammar problems, please PM them to me and I will post a cleaned up version of this story<br>* I like PM’s. If you send one, please have a valid email address on your LitE account so I can reply back if I choose<br>* I’m always looking for beta-readers to give me feedback on my stories to improve them before I publish them. If you would like to do that, send me a PM<br>* I have several other stories similar to this one. I have a blog (see my signature) and I wanted to put a link to it in my story. No go. It got rejected every way I tried. What I eventually did per someone's suggestion on AH is to say "See my Literotica profile for extended author's notes" and my Literotica profile contains the link to my blog and says that that's were the extended author's notes is.

See my post above.

I put my last story for the contest in today. Good luck people!

I'm going to actually try to read some of the other entries and comment/post. I am nowhere near an H with any of my stuff, but I'm getting a rush of favs and even a few comments. I'm eager to see how this last story goes over. It's called Bailey, the Family Pet and it's in Fetish.

Is there some page that shows how the various stories are doing? I'd like to see how I'm doing compared to the big boys and girls.

I tried this just now and it works.

Very cool. Thanks.

Here's my shot at the standings of stories with at least a 4.6 score:
[12 stories removed]

My vote total dropped by 5, and my average vote increased slightly. Does Laurel sweep for duplicate IP numbers, or does she just eliminate "1" votes? Or should I be asking these questions? I don't want to cause a security breach.

We don't posts lists like this. No need to give the troll population a map for 1 bomb runs.

That explains the couple of bombs I received over lunch hour today. Just goes to show the bombers are forum members not just readers.

We have our ideas what the sweeps consist of but no hard facts. Why install a security system and then post the blueprints on the front lawn.

My entry's been swept already.

Not that it made much of a difference for mine...

My second story has been a yo-yo. I think the H has a zipper. There one minute and gone the next.

An 'H'? What is this 'H' of which you speak? ;)

Isn't it just fun to write something off the wall once and awhile? Lol.

Yep, definitely. Most of it came to me in one burst too. Trouble is, now I keep on thinking of ways to add to it and to tighten it up. I've referenced three ditties, which I thought was enough, but there's others I could easily chuck in.

Perhaps I should be planning a second chapter? ;) Nah, I'll leave it short and sweet. And I think I've confused enough people - 'Anymouse' is scratching his head as it is.

Was checking out everyone else's entries on that day & felt strangely honoured to discover I was at the top of the 'New Stories' list. Think that helped me get enough votes for eligibility in a 'quiet' category, bearing in mind the sweeps. *fingers crossed*

I loved it! My favorite so far! But I know from experience that your heroine's defining characteristic rarely polls well. Be that as it may, you kept my attention and I was delighted that she decided against the change at the end. :)

Actually, hairy ladies are a kink for me. But I liked the story, very lighthearted and entertaining.

Ta to you both. Originally, I planned for him to do as ordered, but then I decided that society/peer pressure shouldn't dictate that kind of thing. ;)

Am aiming to go through the rest of the entries on a wet day and vote/comment on them all. Good luck again to everyone.

I notice that there is a discrepancy between my score as it appears in my publicly viewable user page, and as it appears to me in my private "view submissions" page. Doe the former lag behind the latter?

Yes. Different parts of Literotica update at different times.

The above is an advertisement for a fake contest.

Why does Lit allow this person to advertise a fake contest? That is a damned good question that we've never gotten an answer too.

2619 votes for silkstockinglover's variation of "mommy" sitting on her son's lap.

Er, is this usual for stories in Incest that are barely 3 days old?

Spam/Advertisements are against Lit Rules.

Should've been banned by now, if we go by the rules.

Nope. Any mom/son story from a reasonably popular author can break 1k votes in 24 hours without even trying.

SSL is the #1 favorited author on the site right now, so that in 3 days isn't remotely surprising.
