Dual citizenship: USA and CSA? Why not?

We have millions of "Americans" running around now with "dual citizenship" with some foreign country. Some people even have citizenship in three or more countries now. What would happen if the US went to war with one of these countries? The idea that you can be equally loyal to a foreign country and to the US is ridiculous, but try raising that as a political issue today? The media would go into complete conniption fits, tar and feather and run out of town anyone who challenged this idiocy.

So, since, we now allow "dual citizenship" with foreign countries, why shouldn't Americans who identify with the country's Confederate heritage and history be allowed to claim dual citizenship in both the US and the CSA? The CSA is not a foreign country but an integral part of the US and its history. Why can't people be allowed to claim citizenship in the CSA if they want? Sounds a lot more harmless than having dual citizenship with some foreign country or countries.

The USA doesn't "allow" dual citizenship; it just doesn't object to American holding more than one citizenship. There are limitations, however, and an objection will be made if you hold citizenship in a country in a declared war with the US. Then you have to pick your side.

The CSA, of course, doesn't exist except in history. The states that comprised it are now in the USA, and so their citizens are US nationals.

The obvious answer to the OP is that the CSA isn't a sovereign state. It has no citizenship granting rights.

Not for them, but the rest of the union would have been better off imo. Maybe back then it would have caused a bigger issue...but today it certainly wouldn't. My heart would go out to all non white christian males the south over, but it would be better for the rest of us to let the loons just self destruct without dragging the rest of us down with them.

Today we'd be just fine without any real risks to speak of for a number of reasons. First real countries don't invade other countries anymore. That's old school and third world bullshit and even the third world for the most part doesn't. I guess you can kinda count Russia attempting to put itself back together again but those are largely less invasions and more annexations with tanks. When the invadees are literally bringing food and water to the invaders. . .well lets say I'm uncertain if invasion and conquer are appropriate words. Which isn't me defending Putin or Russia just saying that's not quite the same.

In 1860 a broken South without the money of the north would have been easy pickings for Mexico if nobody else. Who knows what the division in the end would have been since that would require knowing lots of things that didn't happen.

As for today. . .yeah getting rid of those bitches would be great. IT would take a bit of adjusting to get around but in the long run it would work fairly well. Though lets be fair, I'm fairly moderate when it comes to gun rights. Without those loons in the south to keep the uber libs in check that shit might not fly homes.
