What a wonderfully positive thread! I think we need a few more like this.
I'd like to endorse this thought. I've encountered many truly wonderful Lit ladies: warm, kind, receptive, caring, giving people. The sad part is that many of them probably still don't realise how great they are, so this thread is a step in the right direction to correct that.
I wish that I had the confidence to do that! Every day in RL, I encounter ladies who are lovely, outwardly and inwardly, but who seem in need of a reminder of that. My heart tells me that I won't come to any harm if I express that sentiment with sincerity and without any expectation, but my brain warns me off for fear of appearing creepy.

Thank you! And feel free to add, this is an open letter for a reason. Take heart in the fact that everyone needs to hear this stuff, people get so lost in the day to day that they forget what an incredible miracle life is...

It always brightens my day to be noticed positively by others, I'm sure it works for most folks. 95% of people really are, nice, kind, and generally decent people in situations like that, and the rest, I just feel sorry for.
If you continue worrying about responses, you'll never do it. If you are sincere in your approach, it'll be received that way by them. I give them the compliment and its up them how they take it. I've yet to have a negative response, just saying.
