I think I would pick a book titled Time and Again by Jack Finney. It is a time travel story and part of it takes place in the late 1800's New York City. I place myself back then seeing the city the way my grandmother did when she arrived in this country in the 1920's. It's a book I enjoy picking up and rereading.
