Today is May the Fourth be with you.

Also the day we learned of the death of "Yeoman Janice Rand"

Both of these iconic franchises have legions of rabid geeks as their fan base.

But...who has the geekier fans? The most dedicated?

The one thing I noticed from years of buying and selling collectibles is in general Star wars fans will spend like water and Trekkies are cheap as hell....

Other wise I can't decide which is geekier, speaking Wookie or Klingon.

I think Star Wars ruled the toy industry by far. Yes, Mego did a great series of action figures in the seventies (got a Romulan in its package? $1500...a damn Kilingon witha gold helmet)

But Star Wars? Hands down. The Death Star, the Jawa Sand Crawler, the At-At, all the figures...

Um....yeah...anyway....

This was the "to die for Toy" in the Sears Catalog when I was a kid

Definitions required. Define "geeks", give criteria for "geekier".

The hard core Klingon dictionary light saber wielding type of fan. Must still live with mom and get horny thinking of women with cinnamon buns on the sides of their heads

I am a rabid, geeky, nerdy fan of both, but Star Trek wins. It has been around longer, has better stories, better actors and lots and lots of lore.

Point in favor: Tim Russ explains The Star Wars. That's no moon... it's a Death Ball.

Hah! Turned Obi into laundry.

Tim Russ is awesome. I also play Dragon Age and he's an excellent good/bad guy there, and Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) plays an absolutely kick ass three-game lady Flemeth. She's also good/bad in the way that you just want her to do more stuff. Here she is dragging the vanquished behind her. Spoiler alert, she can turn into a dragon (You know, Dragon Age) and you can't actually kill her. Even if you try. Really hard. A few times. I mean, you can, but she will not be dead and she'll come back to fuck you up/help you in the next game. Woo Hoo!

No Star Wars guys in Dragon Age...so I don't think that's a coincidence. Star Trek is just clearly better.
