Any damage done or did the experience strengthen it?

Currently 3 months down on a 12 month long detour from my better half. Tho a 30 relapse into presence of her is scheduled in 2 months time.

I'm wondering about that. In the one week shy of twenty years we were together the longest we were apart was when I was working 200 miles from home and I would put in 17 twelve-hour night shifts in a 19 day span. There wasn't time to come home on my required days of rest.

I would come home for a day and a half then head back for 7 day shifts.

Perhaps I should have taken longer sabbaticals.
