I got to thinking the other day about how people regard their own genitalia. I think that most men feel no shame about their cocks, and like to check themselves out in the mirror when they're aroused. And many of us feel that other men's cocks are fun to look at, or at least not a source of shame. I've only met a few men who go out of their way to conceal their cocks when they're in the gym shower.
I have to say that, as a man, I've never found any woman's pussy to be anything but beautiful. But I've been with a few women who don't seem to feel that way about their vulvas. One of them, a woman who had some distinctly large inner labia, said that she didn't like them to be seen at all, even in supposedly neutral settings like communal showers ... she felt like a freak. Another one told me that she was brought up to feel ashamed about having her pussy and tits on display, due to a strict upbringing. She eventually got over the latter, and would go topless, but she could never shake her associations with showing her vulva in public.
Two women are obviously not a statistically significant sample, but it got me wondering if other women felt that way. So I have two questions to ask you ladies out there:
1. Were you brought up to feel shame about your genitalia?
2. Did you ever get over it? If so, when and how?
I know that a lot of women feel very insecure about their breasts, to the point of having them surgically altered, but I figured that that was because they're constantly compared to the supposed ideal that the media is pushing (whatever size and shape that happens to be at the time). But since vulvas aren't generally put on display the way breasts are, there wouldn't be that sort of tendency to compare, would there?
