Submission question

Quick question about submitting. In the guidelines it says if you have bold or italics then leave a note at the top of the story. There is no visual aide, so is this note in a comment tab or do just write: Note, italics on page 10, line 6, words: blah blah blah?

Trying to get it right, any help is appreciated.

Use the html tags, and type them directly into the document.

This line contains <i>italic text</i>, so I've used the html tags.

You can use <i> italic, <b> bold, <center>, and <blockquote>

When you preview the submission, you should see your formatting applied.

That should be "leave a note in the 'notes' section when submitting" but most of us use the HTML tags and don't mention the use. I think they used to be stripped out if you didn't alert the reviewer (Laurel) in the notes section but that is no longer the case.

As mentioned, submitting is two clicks, the first click lets you see what will be submitted and provides an opportunity to see your bold and italic conversions. You can go back with 'make changes' if something doesn't come out right.

I put all italics, bolds, etc. in the text, without HTML tags, and submit as a Word 97 document. Never had a problem.

But then Laurel has to do the cut and paste and place the html tags in the text. One reason doing it that way takes long for the story to post.

Save time and help Laurel out a little by including the tags in your story.
