What is it about the state of Israel which allows it, despite its troublesome history, to enjoy the uncritical support of USA and hardly a note of condemnation from European politicians?
Founded in an orgy of bloodshed - the murder and ethnic cleansing of the Arab inhabitants - and on the basis of "ownership and entitlement" claimed from mythical tales from 2000 years ago, the state of Israel is an unnatural construct which by virtue of its inherent illegitimacy and hostility will always pose a threat to peace in that region - an area not short of pre-existing tensions.
The following questions are for the right-wing types in USA who welcome the Israeli pm to their shores this week and whose political representatives shower standing ovations upon the homicidal maniac.
Why do you allow your foreign policy to be governed by the demands of the Israeli leadership?
Why do you always veto all motions of censure in the UN security council?
Can't you see that your unquestioning support of Israeli intransigence loses you goodwill around the world and creates antagonism in the middle east and Islamic countries?
When innocent humanitarian volunteers from your country are killed by trigger-happy Israeli soldiers, without the huge moral outrage which would greet such action taken by any other country, why is that ok?
When the Israeli army inflicts indiscriminate mass community retaliation on civilians for the actions of individual acts of resistance to occupation, is that ok?
(It wasn't at Oradour-sur-Glane, it wasn't at My Lai, but I guess those must have been a different kind of massacre.)
Will the US taxpayers ever be asked if they would like to continue to bolster a troublesome ally with billions every year?
Have you forgiven the IDF for murdering US sailors on USS Liberty? Would you allow any other ally to murder your servicemen?
Just asking - because I certainly find US policy on Israel unfathomable. How about you?
(And before the standard zionist default position is adopted, and accusations of anti-Semitism are hurled.... not so. Criticism of Israeli policy and its support by US and European governments does NOT imply anti-Semitism.)
Over to you, dear readers.
