The National Zoo in DC has this monkey place where you walk in and are surrounded by the enclosure. Monkeys all around and above you. They are a kind of monkey that screams really loud. It's one of my favorite places because I like to get screamed at by monkeys.

That sounds too much like being at work to me.

People do that? Good lord.

I saw a documentary on it, set in England, and they showed these poor women treating these dolls as fake babies, with car seats, cribs, everything. It was more sad than creepy. But not by much.

Johnny would do that with a monkey.

Is that a boob in the top left? It looks like a boob, and I'm usually pretty good at spotting a boob.

Umm, not sure. I do what the steak tells me to do. If it asked to see my boob, I would comply without question.

Actually, I think it's the sleeve of my shearling coat.

I didn't report the thread and I didn't message anyone about it, but I did find it in poor taste and it made me uncomfortable. Had it been in the Personals/Playground/extremely fast-moving French Literotica I would absolutely have moderated it for violating that same rule.

ETA: holy buckets, 1285 viewing?! We're all celebrities, you guys.

Serious question, and I asked Laurel the same thing and got the same bullshit robot reply:

Q: Should we remove every thread that makes you feel uncomfortable?

I'll tell you what the answer should be, WOB. The answer to that question should be no.

A little bit disconcerting the new trend of heavy handed moderation going on around here. Whether it's over reporting or what. I remember threads that were linked to from ages past where folks threatened to meet each other in public to "settle things" physically. Still there, still fine.

If reporting something is all you have to do to get something removed then it's not a good trend to start. The GB is not like other boards and shouldn't be compared.

Obey the cheesesteak. That's my motto, too.

I completely agree with your answer: if we did that, the forum would be dead. I only would ever moderate something that I felt violated forum rules, which I often ask for input from other, more experienced mods on. So, for clarity: I would never, and have never, moderated posts or threads because they make me uncomfortable; I only move threads/posts that demonstrably break the determined forum rules.

It's the first time I've seen it happen since I came here.

It would be fair to remove my thread had I threatened another poster, but there was no threat. Laurel decided I was threatening after a poster reported the thread and messaged her.

Also, Laurel said she removed the thread after she read it.

Q: How did she miss Colonel Hogan's link if she'd actually read the thread?
