Oh look vetteman can't deal with the fact that the cold war is over and that there is no actual reason for our continued fiddle fucking about in the middle east.
[his post, not his text]
Arab Spring: Obama invited the destabilizing revolutions and civil wars that began in 2010.
The cold war is over and the hot wars are underway.![]()
Tunisia's example invited them. Obama had nothing to do with that.
More evidence of Obama's perfidy:
U.S. Helping Adversaries That Set The World On Fire
07:06 PM ET
Foreign Policy: From Iran to Afghanistan to Russia to Cuba and beyond, President Obama helps governments and entities that are America's adversaries. To "end wars," he invites new aggression.
'I've spent the last 4-1/2 years doing everything I can to reduce our reliance on military power," Obama said a year and a half ago in a city once called Leningrad. But when a commander in chief puts our nation's weapons aside, enemies reach for their guns.
The best argument against this John & Yoko foreign policy of "war is over if you want it" is to list the locales where it's fueled war and boosted grave future threats.
Afghanistan: Right after three high-ranking former generals warn the Senate Armed Services Committee that Obama's muddled policies prevent winning in Afghanistan — and in Iraq and Syria — three U.S. contractors are shot dead by a Taliban infiltrator in the Afghan army. So much for the president's boast that "our combat mission in Afghanistan is over."
Meanwhile, the White House absurdly claims the soon-to-be-back-in-power Taliban aren't terrorists.
Iraq: Our troops come home and a barbaric new Islamic State emerges, videotaping its beheadings of innocent Americans. We are pre-emptively losing our proxy "war" to "degrade and ultimately destroy" the Islamic State by making ground forces a nonoption.
Iran: Last week's coup in Yemen — a country Obama touted as a success in fighting terrorism without getting American hands dirty — was backed by Tehran, which cons at the nuclear negotiating table a president who stands before Congress and argues against toughening sanctions against the leading terror client state.
Arab Spring: Obama invited the destabilizing revolutions and civil wars that began in 2010. Our ally Hosni Mubarak in Egypt was ousted, revolt swept through Tunisia, Libya and Yemen, and affected Syria, Bahrain, plus Muslim lands as far away as Algeria and Sudan. Obama's 2009 Cairo speech seeking "a new beginning" in U.S.-Islamic relations was seen, accurately, as a white flag.
Russia: Scrapping missile defense commitments to the Poles and Czechs, pushing a "reset" button and making secret presidential promises of "more flexibility" with Vladimir Putin sparked a revival of Moscow's expansionist aggression unseen since the Cold War.
Cuba: "When what you're doing doesn't work for 50 years, it's time to try something new," Obama told Congress, certain that making nice with the repressive Castro regime was a slam dunk. Now Raul Castro, predictably, demands the return of Guantanamo Bay and a total end to our trade embargo before he'll play ball.
The world is burning because this president fiddled with America's responsibilities as its lone superpower.

Except the hot wars are fewer and farther between than at any point in history.
Assuming you consider undeclared wars and the Indian wars as being wars, the longest period of peace for the USA was from 11/11/1918 through 12/6/1941, a period of 23 years. For the world as a whole, I doubt there has ever, during historical time, been a period of over a year when there was no fighting between countries or tribal units or factions within countries or tribal units.
A much "pinker" Carter.
