Why do we still elevate men who cheat on their wives. Men like Bill Clinton and Martin Luther King, Jr. are held in such high regard despite their un-faithfuness to their women. Why do we think that that would be honest with us when they couldn't be honest with their women? Why are we willing to simply overlook this? I know bill went through hell for his dalliance, but now, it's all good. It wasn't talked about much in MLK's day. Being a reverend, I wonder how he reconciled his behavior. You don't HAVE to give in to weakness, you know. I'm just a schmo, and I couldn't find time to have an affair even if I wanted to. Where do these big shots find the time? I mean, these were important, apparently busy men. I don't get it.

You don't find affairs, affairs find you.

You're just a schmo, so you don't have a line of attractive and willing women waiting outside your hotel room. Wait until you actually been tested before talking about the weakness of other men.

One of the advantages of being a schmo is that no one is going to follow you around and tell the world about the seedy things you do, which would embarrass your family.

It's not about having the time, it's about making the time available. Big Shots understand that.

Bill Clinton and Martin Luther King, Jr. were men who did great things despite their infidelity. Their infidelity does not nullify their achievements.

No it isn't.. not everyone has exactly the same view on what is good versus what is bad. There's lots of grey area there for many.

Much was made about Clinton and his affairs, even tho it wasn't the business of you or anyone other than his wife. I'd much rather see ten Clintons than one more bush who completely invaded another country without justification, sent the troops ill equipped and unprepared, caused the deaths of 4500 of them, countless Iraqi civilians and trillions of dollars wasted.

Where's the thread about that?
