I got to see SRV in New Orleans on a riverboat. What can say that you don't already know about him. Also got to see ZZTop at the Warehouse in N.O.

SRV used to play here rather regularly, as one local citizen owned (and does now, just not the same one) a Blues Bar. We have an annual Blues Festival every summer, this gentleman is one of the organizers. It's now one of the largest in the world, it goes on for 4 days and is almost totally free.
