I have successfully raised the last of my children to adulthood
Today, my youngest child.turned 18. His day was spent with his girlfriend - he took her to the movies and lunch.
Then he came home with a pack of bourbon cans, so he could have a drink with the rest of us on his birthday. (Was a bit peeved that his first ever purchase of alcohol did not imclude being asked.for i.d. Reckons he could have been buying it for months!)

All my children survived this far!

He was raised to be a gentleman.
Right from the start I taught my boys respect for other people, men and women.
I made it very clear that any teasing of girls (while in school) was completely unacceptable - no way were my boys going to be the kind that 'flicked' bra straps or teased for pimples/glasses/etc.
My daughter was taught not to accept that kind of behaviour.

I'm just extremely happy that he chose bourbon instead of a 'girly' drink like vodka and watermelon!

No vacation for me..... I start my new job on Monday and I start part 2 of my course the first week of Feb (luckily, the new job works perfectly with my course!)
I've had my 'feelingsorryformyself' 6 months..... time to get on with it and forge ahead!
