I have successfully raised the last of my children to adulthood :D
Today, my youngest child.turned 18. His day was spent with his girlfriend - he took her to the movies and lunch.
Then he came home with a pack of bourbon cans, so he could have a drink with the rest of us on his birthday. (Was a bit peeved that his first ever purchase of alcohol did not imclude being asked.for i.d. Reckons he could have been buying it for months!)

All my children survived this far!
Yay!

Congrats wq, it's lovely to see them grow up and be happy. ;)

It's his birthday and HE takes HER to the movies and lunch?

She must give really good head.

He was raised to be a gentleman.
Right from the start I taught my boys respect for other people, men and women.
I made it very clear that any teasing of girls (while in school) was completely unacceptable - no way were my boys going to be the kind that 'flicked' bra straps or teased for pimples/glasses/etc.
My daughter was taught not to accept that kind of behaviour.

Mine turns one on the 26th. She hasn't bought me shit for drinks. She's a terrible child.

Congrats.

I am not a fan of bourbon, perhaps because I haven't had really good bourbon.

Uh, "Canned Bourbon?!??" This cannot be good.

Congrats on raising an acceptable member of society. It's pretty hard to do that, based on how many people like Nickelback in this world.

Well done.

Jim Beam and coke in a can. It's kind of a right of passage here to go buy a carton of pre-mixed drinka.
I'm just extremely happy that he chose bourbon instead of a 'girly' drink like vodka and watermelon!

He only drank.2 cans with us...... had to be up at 4.for work.

Happy birth day, wq. :) My kid will be 5 this year. Seems like I just had him yesterday.

This kid of mine much prefers.Queen and suchlike.
He says music.from that era was actually music, as opposed to noise.
His favourite album is Sugarman!

Congrats WQ ! My "baby' will turn 21 in about a month. It is a joy to see them grown up and become productive.

Then they get mad, quit their job and move home to drive Mom and Dad crazy. lol

Is it real bourbon or is it malted liquor?

And congrats, now it's time to get back to yourself!! Go on vacation!

No vacation for me..... I start my new job on Monday and I start part 2 of my course the first week of Feb (luckily, the new job works perfectly with my course!)
I've had my 'feelingsorryformyself' 6 months..... time to get on with it and forge ahead!
:)

Oh.... and Jim Beam, which is a distilled bourbon.
Whatever that means.

I'm reading this thread and thinking that my son is 12 and a half and in only five and a half years he will be eighteen. I can already see my boy slipping away from me. He's gonna be rebellious. I can tell.

I didn't know that being a gentleman meant that one could not be taken out for one's birthday.

And, frankly, I don't see what one has to do with the other, but, clearly, it must.

He bought the tickets, she bought the snacks.
He actually bought the tickets last week, because he wanted to [in the old-fashioned vernacular] Take Her Out.
