History and science are mysteries to you huh?
For the same reason that Jesus and all of his disciples are normally depicted as white despite coming from the Middle East.
Because Man was made in God's image, and HE is obviously White. Oh, and the Garden of Eden was in Jackson county Missouri.
Hawass said the builders came from poor Egyptian families from the north and the south, and were respected for their work -- so much so that those who died during construction were bestowed the honor of being buried in the tombs near the sacred pyramids of their pharaohs.
Their proximity to the pyramids and the manner of burial in preparation for the afterlife backs this theory, Hawass said.
"No way would they have been buried so honorably if they were slaves," he said.
The same reason Jesus is portrayed as white. Marketing.
He looked like modern people of Palestine and the Middle East tho Jesus was half British.
Most people in the Middle East are Caucasian. Whether they are considered "white" is a matter of opinion.
Half British? On his mother's side, or on his father's side?
Mother's, I believe it is.
Caucasian by definition but that doesn't mean that they were, as biblical figures are usually depicted, Anglo-European white. Caucasian isn't synonymous with white.
Egyptians range through a variety of skin tone depending on the region in which their ancestors came from. Southern Egyptians tend to have much darker skin while those in the north seem lean toward more Mediterranean and Indo-European skin tones.

DNA tests of the roots of Ramses' hair have revealed he was a redhead.
Interesting. I already told you red-headed black people are a thing. I don't know Ramses's phonetic appearance, but I thought it was this:

The main reason is because it's a 200 million dollar flick that needed A-list stars to help make that money back. Can you name any Egyptian A-list stars that have the kind of pull to draw in enough viewers to make a profit. The only A-list actor of color that I can think of that also happens to be in the right age range is Will Smith.
If this was a 10-20 million dollar flick, they could probably get away with Naveen Andrews from Lost or maybe Sendhil Ramamurthy from Covert Affairs.
I think she was originally from London, now that you mention it.
Its prolly more accurate to say ROMAN.
I don't know why you guys are debating historical accuracy and the bible. The reply that I wrote above is what the producers gave as their reason for not having egyptian actors. It's about money...specifically getting A-List actors that can draw in enough people so they make a friggin' profit on their 200 million dollar investment.
The Courage Ramses is more redheaded than that painting.
He had a hell of a nosejob on his official art. He saw what they originally painted and realized he had one of those Italian noses. Rome-in all over his fucking face. And was like, "No you need to go back and fix that shit. Is that how I look? Do I really look like that? Fucking Chri- uh... Fucking Horace guys do I seriously look like that? FUCKING FIX IT!"

Not losing your ass on that kind of investment could be more important than being politically correct, I suppose.
Do you think Nefertiti had the sculptor make her look this beautiful, or do you think she really was this beautiful?

Nefertiti genuinely did look like her paintings, but that bust has... a weird history to say the least. But yes, her husband was hugely obsessed with realistic art, there's an entire class in art history about Akhenaten and his obsession with realism. He had this fucked up spine and weird head, and was pissed that everyone drew him stylistically beautiful and started a realism movement- that only lasted as long as he was alive. It's called the Amarna period. He basically was rebelling against the idealism of the nobility, which was a huge thing that fucked with the government because of religious connotations at the time. But yeah. Just google Amarna art. It's really interesting.
Now you're just being silly.
