Hello,

Recently I have found that I am wildly attracted to stuffed animals. Not just like I want to hug them when I am feeling blue or I want them to decorate my bed while I am at work. No. REALLY attracted to them.

So I go to WalMart and pick a few out. It was so hard to narrow down my choices to just a few. I pay the bill, bring them home, remove the made in China tags, pour us all a few drinks, and let the magic begin.

Magic was had by all. Oh yeah.

So here is my How To problem. How do I clean up my newly found stuffed friends? I have tried dish soap, Woolite, putting them in Mom's washing machine. None of this works. The stuffing is never as soft and inviting as it was that magical first time.

Please do not judge.

Thank you in advance for all of your considerate and timely advice.

Put the washed ones in a tumble drier with a couple of tennis balls - that'll put their bounce back.
You can buy the tennis balls in Walmart too - think of them as furry unhatched dinosaurs and leave them a saucer of milk... or bourbon... but not red wine as it makes them gassy and next thing they'll be floating around on your ceiling and you'll have some explaining to do.

Good luck

Look, I am having a tough enough time keeping the dog off of my stuffed friends the way it is. Adding tennis balls to that mix is going to be trouble.

I never really though about fucking a tennis ball until just now.

Hmmm...

I thought a water melon was the object of choice... for fucking I mean, not the tumble drier. That would end badly.

...and leave the dogs alone or your thread will get deleted by Garnate

I wanted to start a new thread but it will just get moved like all the others so I will pose the question here instead.

Does anybody know where I can get a custom stuff animal/doll that looks like Garnate? I saw one on a Seinfeld episode years ago. Except I do not want my stuffed animal/doll to look like George's mom, I want it to look like Garnate.

Thanks in advance,
Pete

Dear Saintly Litster, (as if)

Next time, put your fluffy friends into a pillowcase before popping them into the Maytag. You may use a regular case and fasten it shut with a girl's hair pony or similar, or do what I do and use a zippered pillow cover--easy peasy! Leave them ensconced in their shrouds until they come out of the tumbler. DO NOT over-dry them.

Also, tennis balls--yes.

If necessary, you may gently brush them with a stiff-bristled hairbrush. Take turns, even, if you find them willing to reciprocate.

Spread the love. Just be sure to clean up after yourself. ;)

Signed, Put It On My Tab Litster

An Outsiders reference and a My Little Pony reference in one post?!?

Em, have I mentioned that I think I may be in total like with you?

I find the most incredible things when I'm floating around Lit.

First I learned about Christmas crafts for the kids, which I will totally set up sweatshop assembly on right away and start selling this crap at all the craft shows from here till New Years Day.

Secondly I learn about re-plumping of plushies with tennis balls! True, I may feel like gouging my eyes out for having been subjected to the ways and means of learning this (damn you Petey!) but still, the wee one will have plump stuffies once more. Hooray!
