this is it. The above. Not a title at all, I am afraid, but it will have to do. I can live with it.

I made some pictures. I would like to show them, but when I was cropping, I saw the cat really needs a new scratch-thingy, I also saw the cat's toys cluttering the background in some pics, in other pics, after cropping, offspring's clutter is taking the focus off of what I really want to show, and I noticed I put quite a lot of holiday postcards on display too.

So. I'll post a few. I'll get the offspring to put their stuff in their room. I'll get rid off the old postcards. I'll buy the cat a new scratch-thingy. I'll throw the cat's toys in another corner. And then -if I feel up to it after all this hard work- I'll take new pictures in a few days.

Christmas cards are one thing I absolutely hate to display because anyone who's even a little interested can figure out the last time I cleaned the house.

Hopefully your cleaning project won't take too much out of you to make more pictures possible. Or maybe you can find a new clear patch of ceiling and take pictures from below - watch out for cobwebs, that usually trips up my ceiling shots.

Oh no, no left over cristmas-cards from last year! Just all the summer holidays postcards from family and friends which arrived since June. But this season's greeting cards will start to arrive shortly I am afraid. Which means I have to write cards too ...

So here we are, only three days later, and I redid the pictures against a neutral background. Nothing keeps the focus off of me now.

I also kept the house spic and span, worked, did the groceries, cooked, did the laundry and so on. Time to have some fun again!

BTW I might change my handle. It was funny to add yet something more to achieve a name that was free to choose, but it is, frankly my dears, coming close to a pain in my arse to write the whole litany every time I log in.

If someone has an idea?

Thank you very much, for your compliments and the ideas. I like altgoldblum. That is not too long to type and means "old gold flower" in german, which describes me well. Per PM I got "Womanofsubstance" I like that too. Altathontas sounds a bit like Pocahontas. I dressed like her once, a very long time ago for carnival. My grandmother made the costume out off a khaki colored coverall my uncle had discarded. Some oil and grease stains she couldn't cut around she covered with fabric with feathers printed on it, because "that is what Indians do, dear". A very practical woman, my grandmother. I didn't win a prize with my costume though.

practicality is a very grandmotherly quality.
sometimes i still drink out of some sweet 1995 pocahontas tumblers from burger king because of sloth, not really practicality.
