Not racist .

The words used were in context for the setting of the story in 1938 .

You neglected to mention this was a non paying assignment. If there's no fun to be had I need to be paid.

Why is Lorilei a side order in the poll?

Of course it's racist, the question I this is it hateful and within the context no not at all.

Dammit, someone left the Playground gate unlocked again.

As for Rob's story, I suppose the same idiots who think Huckleberry Finn is racist would say that it is. When did Vette join the PC crowd?

I love when the gate is open and morons who never post on the geebee comment on how terrible the geebee is.

How about these:

#ScaryBlackMan
#VictimBlaming

When you ascribe racism where none was there.

birf mother or foster mother?

which assumes that the black person you referenced could not have come from an intact nuclear family. Not to mention the stereotyping of language.

I speak jive.
:nods:

Suggesting that the speakers dialect is somehow not acceptable.

Sho nuff!

Again mocking dialect.

Black folks don't swim!

(Seriously, an African American friend of mine who attended the Air Force Academy said the remedial swimming class there looked like "an underwater version of the Million Man March")

Proud of those as well?

Could not find anything new to say ?
This is a repeat post .

The entire thread is a repeat post. Not only is the post he is referencing a repeat, he made the argument in another thread just today.

What, exactly is your point, Dom Roger Elliot?

Since Robbie is confused about his privilege in freely using racist tropes, I figured this would be a fine thread to bump every time he does it.

If I wanted to make a career of it, I could find hundreds of examples of Robbie's various anti-semitic/racist/homophobic/misogynist screeds. These were collected over a couple of days only specific to his denigration of blacks.

He repeats himself quite often.

Says the guy with 26 canned responses he recycles endlessly.

The analogy you are grasping for is Uncle Tom's Cabin. In Huck Finn it is not used pejoratively. In Uncle Tom's Cabin it is.

Must fill your liberal heart with pride to both support JBJ's position on use of racist slurs and RDS's on homo-phobic slurs.

Not racist.

I am not "grasping" for anything. I wrote what I meant, clearly and without equivocation.

So, you are claiming that the use of the word in Rob's story is pejorative?

You're not my daddy.

You do realize who you are talking to here don't you? (The Smartest Guy On The GB)

It IS racist.

But one that is within the context of your story, which suits well according to the era you've set your story.
