I had a Scottish grandmother, so yesterday I kept track of the voting in Scotland, and got in touch with the various other Scottish Americans I know. I ended up partying with people from both "yes" and "no" camps and got fucked by people with Scottish flags and UK flags. It was weird and wild.

i'd like a go at you...i'm part Scottish...;)

I was watching the results closely. I'm American, but my family is Scottish, traced back to the 1200's. I've often thought of packing up and moving there.

sounds like good times.

i live in NE england, just an hour from the border,so a `yes` vote would have had a big impact on us......personally i wasnt too bothered which way it went, but im pleased they voted to keep The Union together......as was said in the campaign.....we are better and stronger together......Plus,ive had some good nights out in Edinburgh.

I did not have firm opinions not living there. I liked a lot of what the "ye" campaign wanted, but something in me didn't really want separation. Yet, i felt attached to the "yes" side much of my family favored it. I did wear all blue and white much of the day. LOL

I only visted once but loved it, and I, to, fantasized about moving there. My Scottish family, but are all Buchanans and Austins.

I'm Scottish although I've lived in England since I was 4.

Glad UK is staying intact; I think of myself as British above all. It would have been a massive mistake for everybody (including England) if it had been a Yes vote.

imho, of course...

I think both sides ran a good campaign, and although im english,i can understand why Alex Salmond wanted independance from our government in Whitehall....believe it or not..alot of english people want a change of government too.....cameron can only think of how to cut everything.
But for me,Alex Salmon was too evasive on alot of issues, and seemed to be asking the Scots to gamble their future on him being right. Too big a risk i think.

Was there much anger at the "yes" voters? Last night there were some people who wer pissed off at me wearing blue and white.

Anyone who wants to move to Scotland out of sentiment should, as the Queen said "think long and hard about it" unless you like midges :p
To be fair it is pretty to look at, but you canna eat views. Salmond has resigned btw - he's a twat anyway. Time for all the thieving supercilious assholes to get out of Westminster and listen to what all the UK wants, not just Scotland.

i wouldnt say anger.......dissappointment maybe........but no trouble that i heard off......alot of people were more worried about money and things had it gone yes

Lots of fesking fear mongering. A man got stabbed in Glasgow over the vote by an extremist.
Neo nazi types buring stuff in Saint George Square and Union Jack clad thugs burning my flag.
Last I heard car loads of English thugs were headed up to Glasgow. No doubt to feck with people.
True not all people from England are hooligans and thugs but they seem to come outmof the wordwork.

I think people vote No, the reason is people worried about change for their life, especially the middle and higher class people.

How many did you fuck from each side?

Surely you should have matched the electorate -- 5 no's to 3 yes's would have been a better split :)
