And try this for size: If everyone wanted feedback, there wouldn't be a separate feedback forum (duh). You shouldn't assume they want it unless they ask for it, a place having been provided for them to ask for it.

But readers are free to do so if they wish. Authors can delete or block this if they wish.

Nope, not everyone is looking for it, but not everyone is not looking for it either which was kind of my point.

I just don't think we can say "many" or "everyone" about anything here, the readership is too vast and as for authors? You only hear from a fraction of the thousands that have written here on the boards, so there is no way to generalize on things here. But, by nature we all do it at one time or another.

Actually, this (Lit.) us the first & only forum I've ever encountered that person on, so if there is any person/thing they're following, it is certainly not I.

As for ignorant turds one must put up with, I'll assume you can ID those easily, being one yourself.

If every author stopped at the start of a story and said this is crap.....half the stories here wouldn't be here. Many people have doubts about how good their stories are and beat themselves up over it, but still post and more often than not are surprised at the results.

The last one I wrote that I thought, "Ugh, not my best" placed in a contest.

That just means you are a harsher critic (&/or a better writer) than most readers/writers here.

Also, as to your first sentence, nobody is asking/expecting anyone to stop at the start of a story (which would then by definition not be stopping)... But by the end of the first page, you should know whether it's worth continuing or not.

I figure I will post this here as most of the AH regulars are in this thread.

Just got an e-mail from Elliebabe that she received through lit feedback. It was from the same person at Smashwords that found my book that started the Turner saga(still on amazon, only a couple of books, but she has an account after having damn near 300 books pulled, go amazon)

It seems an author "Wolf Mansfield" stole Ellie and My story By Demons Driven. SW's screening process pulled up the lit link and after contacting Ellie he pulled down the book. The author only has 2 other books up and the guy from SW said they returned no hits on his search and "Demons" was only posted yesterday.

I'm posting this because for some reason that authors name sounded very familiar and wondering if anyone here knows if they are or were on lit.

Another example of both post here at your own risk and....people suck.

My wife joked I should be flattered, but I'm only pissed off.
