Mr. Speaker! We Need To Get Back To Benghazi

They're floaters in life's latrine. :D

You woke up in the middle of the night to post something stupid about me... what does that say about you miles?

We just point and laugh at you.. I've never dreamt of any of you shriveled sacs..

:D

Back to the point:

Who ordered "Bob" to tell Kris (“Tanto”) Paronto, Mark (“Oz”) Geist, and John (“Tig”) Tiegen, to stand down?

Really it ultimately makes no difference.Three guys honestly think they were going to storm in like a goddamn Rambo movie and defeat a heavily armed ambush and not just make it worse? Possible? Sure. It's also possible that the reason Koalabear's been so silent is he's an American Journalist. Plausible. . .not so much.

Do we have an exact time line?

Ultimately your just phishing because you can't attack Obama on his policies without looking like fools.

Their testimony impeaches the sworn testimony of many Obama administration figures. That order cost lives, That is what is important.

How many George Bush impeachment threads did ya start?

Iraq cost way more lives... Isn't that what's important?

Seriously?

TWO guys held out for hours. These guys are not mall security cops. These were all highly experienced operators.

This wasn't about policy. This about dereliction of duty. This was about having no policy other than "don't do stupid shit' which in practice has become, do nothing if at all possible.
Which of Obama's policies are in your view unassailable?

It does? Maybe you can point to one of the testimonies that are now impeached. Should be simple, since there are many of them.

Dereliction of duty is exactly what those grunts did when they headed out without orders.

No it really doesn't.

They are still in the end just human.

We don't know what this was about and ultimately it doesn't matter. It wasn't derliction of duty.

None of Obama's policies are unassailable. No ta single fucking one. The man makes lots of mistakes. comes from being a man not some kind of fabled Messiah.

The facts on Benghazi are quite clear however. Stevens should have left, he didn't because he felt safe in a community that loved him. It turns out he was mostly right, they through a riot within days of his death because he was making inroads. We know there was a protest that seems to have been partially in response to an offensive video and it was taken advantage of by operatives.

Ultimately it boils down to shit happens.

Don't let that get in the way of things though.

Stevens was there specifically to obtain weapons Charlie-Wilson-style to transfer to the Syrian rebels that we now call ISIS without advising the relevant congressional oversight committees such as intelligence. He was there for sure at the behest of the administration, possibly on orders from State, Possibly CIA. The State department gives cover to the CIA routinely. They aren't supposed to get caught doing it.

Not even bothering to stick your head into the situation room when an Ambassador is missing, possibly kidnapped and opting to work on your fundraising speech instead is the very essence of dereliction of duty.

"Shit happens" implies that events were not foreseeable. Not even the State Department claims these events were unforeseeable and that security should not have been increased. And no the fucking republicans had nothing whatsoever to do with why so little money was spent at the most dangerous installation we had.

This is not even agree to disagree territory. This is you aren't even in the ballpark of anything close to veracity.

Dereliction of duty is exactly what those grunts did when they headed out without orders.

If they were private contractors they were not subject to orders. They could quit or be fired at will. They likely are actually employees of the CIA, but no one has said so.

You are not at all qualified to call brave men who are highly skilled operators "grunts." The military would not refer to them as such.

Bet it felt macho to say it though.

You knew instantly exactly who I was referring to. That's how language works.

I knew exactly from your language how dismissive you are of actual heroes because they do not support your guys dissembling. Stay classy.

They aren't "actual heroes" yet. If they end up bringing down your least favorite President, then you can consider them "heroes".

If you'll notice query changed the topic completely when I destroyed his ass over his lack of basic historical fact.

Nobody. Are you not paying attention?

;)

They were told to wait.

To wait for backup.

The backup was told to wait.

WAIT <> STAND DOWN

You can wait standing up...

Update:

Benghazi creeps back into spotlight

09/10/14 10:30 AM—Updated 09/10/14 10:31 AM

By Steve Benen

The deadly attack on a U.S. outpost in Benghazi two years ago has been investigated by seven congressional committees, each of which concluded that the conspiracy theorists are wrong. House Republicans nevertheless concluded that it’s time for an eighth committee to launch a probe, which its chairman, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), insists won’t be the least bit political.

And yet, consider what Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) said over the weekend.

U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Grantville) addressed the Benghazi investigation and terrorist organization ISIS among other topics Saturday morning at the Cobb County GOP breakfast at its headquarters. […]

“I’m not going to stand here and confirm or deny anything,” Westmoreland told the crowd. “Our job is to figure out the truth.”

Westmoreland spent much of his speech criticizing Democrats. “I think our enemy stands on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.,” Westmoreland said to loud applause.

Oh good, we’re reached the point at which elected lawmakers publicly describe the president of the United States as an enemy.”

According to the report in the Marietta Daily Journal, Westmoreland went on to say that “it’s hard” for congressional Democrats “to be bipartisan.”

Said the guy who considers the president his “enemy.”

Remember, Westmoreland isn’t just some random conservative – the Georgia Republican was one of only seven House Republicans to be named to the new GOP Benghazi committee. In May, Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) said Westmoreland has “no business” joining the select committee, calling it “inappropriate” for the far-right lawmaker to serve on the panel while also overseeing political strategy for the National Republican Campaign Committee.

With the benefit of hindsight, Lewis’ concerns appear well grounded.

Igor Bobic added, “Admission for the Marietta, Georgia, event was $10. The Cobb County GOP touted the event as a ‘very unusual breakfast’ where its supporters would receive an ‘update on the Benghazi investigation.’”

Trey Gowdy recently said he hopes to avoid a media “circus” with his investigation. “If you take the approach ‘Are we doing this to learn more and better ourselves as a people? And be respectful of their sacrifice?’ then you won’t let it become a circus,” he said.

And yet, here’s a handpicked member of Gowdy’s panel, using the Benghazi investigation to help a local Republican Party, at an event in which that member referred to the president as an “enemy.”

As for the larger context, with Gowdy’s committee poised to hold its first hearing next week, msnbc’s Alex Seitz-Wald noted last week, “After several mercifully Benghazi-free months, the 2012 attack on the diplomatic compound in Libya is about to be thrust back into the spotlight around its September 11 anniversary.”

Fox News, naturally, is getting increasingly invested, repackaging old news as new fodder, while again pushing discredited theories.

They announced that the committee is finally holding a hearing next week?

We'll see if it actually happens.

What does Benghazi matter now?
It's all about selling those George Washington Bridge nose cones. And they're only, a buck three eighty, apiece.
