You might want to consider that I did so in order to have an easy reference point of what I didn't want my stories to be like.

There is a real person behind these fake names. If a guy wears a mask and shoots you, does it not count because it was not his real face?

This shit would get cut down drastically is everyone here had to register with an e-mail. A good detective/ PI will find someone through it no matter how you falsify the information in the profile.

Anonymous is given free reign to torment and harass people. These people would not say boo in real life to anyone because there are consequences involved, but here? You see what they do and they can be eliminated, but the site would have to give a fuck and if anyone here knows they don't better than me, its you.

I think there's a slight flaw in your logic. There are tools out there where you can employ a 'masked' email address. As I understand it, it was for use at those sites where they want the data (for spam purposes, perhaps?) which you don't want to give.
So an invalid email address is not a lot of use in tracking a malefactor who deserves to be "taken behind the bike sheds and shown the error of his ways".

But the idea is good in principle, I reckon.

At the risk of sounding like a total tool, I'll say that we should expect such creeps on places such as Lit rather than be scandalized by them.

Doesn't that put us in the role of those who "passed by on the other side"?

We should not only be 'scandalised' but should take what steps we can to minimise, if not eliminate, the problem.

So a decent citizen, a person trying to write well, is stalked and threatened is to be ignored ?

Did you miss my post where I suggested Laurel hire an IT person to expose anon commenters who are turning this place into a cesspool? You're not the only one who proposed a solution. Actually, I think my solution is more realistic. Laurel appears to be unwilling to dedicate resources towards fixing the problem. I suggested a way for her to come up with those resources.

I wouldn't try because I have nothing to fear from them, after all I don't have tits and I do hit back which takes me off of guys like this radar.

But I could tell you I know someone that has used e-mails as part of a stalking suit and it was fully admissible and the stalker lived a thousand miles away. But you would never believe that because you have proven time and again that we are supposed to believe every whopper of a story you tell , but everyone else is lying.
