I use several gmail accounts on my phone, as well as an outlook account. I only set up my "real" gmail account on my android device, and if I want to use my other gmail accounts, I open them in a browser other than Chrome. Chrome seems to want to connect them, but so far Dolphin and Firefox don't.

On the surface, this seems to keep them separate from each other.

I think it might if you use the Android email app. But you should be all right with a webmail service. PM me if you want a recommendation.

Then go into your personal settings and strip out everything. No forwarding number, no forwarding email address - nothing.

As to the OP - the internet is filled with fucking predators and animals - and the cloak (or perceived cloak) of anonymity allows them to project their shit with imagined impunity. I know a few people (all women) who've been victim to thins - one of them from when she was 14 and STILL occasionally getting something out of the blue from the guy who was stalking her them (she's 31 now - I mean, leave her the fuck alone).

As Swilly suggested, I don't use the Chrome browser on my tab. It's either OM or UCB. I don't use a PC to connect to the net, so I don't have to worry about Chrome doing the self thinking.

I googled something like "free anonymous email" and found a good service that didn't ask for any information about me.

Yeah, I started out with a google email for lit, but quickly changed it. Come to think of it, that was how the conversation got started with my wife, also on google, that led to me telling her that I was writing and posting here.

Probably others here know more than I do, but I can offer an anecdote. I have separate business and personal email accounts. The personal account is Gmail. I never linked the two in any way. I write a good bit of email for both accounts on an Android phone. I have a teenage son whose Gmail account is linked to mine, and he uses his Minecraft avatar's name as a nickname on that account. Now my (Google) Android phone has decided that when I send business email from my phone, my son's avatar name will be in the header. So Google has linked my two email accounts via my phone, and imported a nickname from a third account.

It would be funnier if I knew what to do about it.

I don't use google email anymore except to correspond with another author on Lit. (Can't remember who contacted who with feedback first) but he and I exchange ideas and general chit-chat every few weeks. I changed my Lit email after he and I started corresponding.

However my google email is the alternate/contact for my main yahoo email. And that email is the alternate/contact email for my Lit email - also yahoo. And now that I think about it, yahoo probably knows my real name and lit name are linked.

I think I'll be changing, if not emails, at least names. I actually used my real name on my "main" email just as I did with google. Thankfully I didn't for my Lit email. But it's linked. Jesus what a mess.
